Jurado's success has been a pleasant surprise. Our future starting pitching already looked good due not only to quality, but to quantity as well. It is good to occasionally see someone emerge out of nowhere to be included in the number of potential long term MLB starters. There is strength in numbers, and we definitely have the numbers when it comes to starting pitching prospects.

If we play our cards right and turn some of these early season successes into successful trades, the numbers will be even better.

He looked very poised and worked his plan. Timely DPs and ground balls. Thinking only one walk.

Some pitchers look scared and nibble too much. That was not him. Ump did give the edges though to both pitchers.

That is what I like about him and why I was glad he was getting a chance to start another game. He has a very calm demeanor. Too bad the BP blew 2 games but it is what it is.
