Chicago has to be the favorites for the Pennant...they were very unfortunate to get the Mets on an insane hot streak.

I agree w/ most of the criticisms, but w/ the pitching staff we have, all it takes is another hot streak once you get to the post-season. I'll take those odds again.

And maybe the offense won't be so putrid for four months this year. They spoiled a lot of great pitching performances.

Fair points and I agree with you 100% - once a team is in the playoffs, anything can happen.

I'd love it if the Indians were in a weak division, snuck into the playoffs and reeled off an unlikely championship. People could say, "but the Indians were the worst team to make the playoffs," and I'd say, "you could be right, but scoreboard, bitches!" Then I'd scalp somebody, Chief Wahoo style.

If I had to pick a "surprise" playoff team this year, the Fish would be it. If that happens and the Nats rebound it will definitely be tougher for the Mets to get above 90 wins and in that scenario that means no playoffs.

Sometimes young teams take a step back after a breakout season. Maybe because of the weight of expectations? Heading into 2016, I'd agree they're one of -- if not the -- top teams in the NL, but I wouldn't be surprised to see them underperform a bit. That said, I would pick them to win their division.

Still not convinced by the Cubs staff top to bottom, when push comes to shove

And they still have a shitload of strikeouts in that everyday lineup, but Heyward and Zobrist should help

Think the power arms of the Mets match up well with that lineup

The 2015 Mets also made the playoffs with a predominantly AAA lineup for 2/3 of the year. Better lineup, Syndergaard and Matz for a full year plus the potential return of Wheeler. Mets fans should be excited for 2016.

Historically, the Mets have spent like the Yankees of the NL while performing like the Royals of the NL. Sure, the Indians have had hard times, but given the option, I'd rather say, "yeah, my team sucks, but they're poor" as opposed to, "yeah, my teams sucks, but they're inept."
