Thats why when he broke the all times wins record he thanked Elias (who also broke the all time points record that night, it was a great game to see in person) and had the entire team come and cut the net off with him. Than you must be new to hockey because anyone who has every seen Patrick Roy play could tell you what a goalie with a big ego looks like.Marty actually carries himself in a humble manner.

He is a goalie.. and they are all ego, I think Marty gets a bad rep cuz he tells the truth if his D hangs him out to dry he says it and people like Cup mistake that for selfishness... for some reason everybody thinks you win as a team and lose as a goalie.

like kelmitt said ego is part of being a goalie a goalie without one lacks confidence and without confidence a goalie has a major problem.Unlike Roy Marty does not let his ego get in the way during the olympics marty was very supportive of luongo when replaced during his first stint in olympic play Roy wanted no part in even sharing playing time and it cost them.Marty is making pretty good strides right now between being supportive of Hedberg and the way he played during relief last game.His honesty is a plus also like you said you win as a team and lose as one when your playing as individuals you have major problems.

Cup doesn't usually bother me but he doesn't seem to understand alot of the times Marty is being honest... if he has a bad game he says so, if his D has a bad game he calls them on it... the way he handled the Hedberg starting thing was a good example of what kind of guy he is..... ALL CLASS!!
