Is currently a free agent.

IMO, he has just as much talent as Meredith, but his problem was clearly his health. I honestly wouldn't mind taking a flier on him. He knows the offense, can step in immediately and he'll only cost the league minimum. Really zero risk involved, should he get hurt again.

Thoughts?

It's unbelievable that he's not on the team.:tsk:

Honestly, if he can pass the physical, I'd give him a chance. I always felt he could be good,, but just couldn't stay healthy.

Well, I don't blame them for not resigning him. It was ridiculous with that guy. He couldn't go a week without an injury. I think the most games he ever strung together was 3-4. That's absurd...

However, with the Meredith injury. I don't see why we don't take a flier on him.

I think right now, they just have too much of a cluster at the back-end of the position. However, if we lose somebody else in September... watch out for him to be brought in.

Ya, I realize the injury history, it just seemed like he had potential. My point of "unbelievable" is just the history of injury in and of itself. He should've been a good player, just snake-bit.

We have a bunch of back-end receivers, it's a number 1 that we lack.

Yeah... Wright is an ideal #2, Wheaton is an ideal slot, Thompson is a good depth receiver, Gentry is interesting (but unknown) and we all hope White can step-up... but I don't think anyone is holding their breath. Bellamy is a SPT's guy and Cruz is "sayonara".

Meredith was supposed to be the guy who became our "go-to". We have a bunch of solid complimentary options, but unless White steps up... no #1. I don't think Wilson would suddenly become that guy, but I think he has a higher ceiling than others on our roster.

Somebody brought up trading for Allen Hurns, who Jacksonville is shopping. However, taking on a receiver in the second year of a 4 year/40 million dollar contract (20 mil guaranteed), doesn't seem like a Pace move right now. It seems like a move a contender would make.

Couldn't hurt, I wonder if they are waiting until after the big cut down. They Bears are 3rd in the waiver order.

Yeah, I think we're going to see who else is released first.
