Exactly, if it wasn't for the text a guy on shore sent to one of the other guys in the boat saying, "Keep Jose cool. Don't let him get too far from the coast.." Now why would he worry about Jose going too far from the coast if Jose wasn't driving?
"Try to keep him close to shore" were the exact words. That could mean a plethora of things, and committing homicide is very low on the list of those things, in my opinion

So you would rather ineffectively deflect than continue the argument, which you started, over whether Jose was driving the boat when it crashed?

YOU made the unfounded point that Jose was driving the boat, something there's no evidence of, something we will never know. YOU accused a dead man of committing homicide. Ok?

I agree with you... But I think the word suicide is too strong... I don't think he meant to kill himself and the others... But he was drunk, upset, young and stupid... Drunk and upset people do take more risks....

I think the guy who said "try to keep him close to shore" should be charged with something. No jetties further out.

Like telling a buddy to make sure his drunk friend only drives in the well populated downtown area and not out in the country.

Probably a Red Sox fan concerned that his Fraud Sox might have to face the Marlins in the post season.

You were the one angrily denying that Jose was driving the boat, without having all the available information. I destroyed your argument. It happens. Get over it and have a nice day.

Why would a sox fan do that? Both Fernandez and Stanton were going to be traded to the Sox this offseason in return for Moncada.

You "destroyed" it by citing information that is impossible to prove or refute. There's a word for that type of bullshit reasoning that someone smarter than me would know off the top of their heads. @There is A Moose at 3rd?

Maybe. Taking an unnecessary risk influenced by temporary mental instability and drug consumption is about as close to suicide, without committing suicide, as one can get. But I don't think suicide can be omitted as a possibility and I think it is much stronger possibility than previously thought.

Yoan Molasses never met a curve ball he couldn't resist. When was the last time he made contact? Bush Administration?

"Impossible to improve"? I'll assume you meant impossible to 'prove'. And actually, it isn't impossible to prove. Evidence is mounting.

I have friends in the Marlins organization who said he was likely to be traded in the off season. This was probably in response to those rumors. He didn't want to be traded, so he decided to kill himself instead of being separated from his baby momma and unborn fetus.

It's possible that they could determine who was driving the boat.

Location of the bodies, specific wounds or bruising from the steering wheel or throttle etc .. Location of blood on the boat.

There could be all sorts of clues.

He certainly didn't want to be traded to Arizona. He was afraid of Tony LaRussa.

It was his boat.
There were no eye witness to the crash, so no one knows who was driving.
All people know is that he wasn't driving the boat when it pulled away from the bar dock three hours prior to the crash. Sounds like a giant, giant assumption to assume he had not taken over as the driver of his own boat three hours later.
Asshat.
i though it was around 2am that they left a bar dock after Jose grabbed a bottle of tequila(or ta-kill-ya in this case)

All the more reason to have your friend take the wheel around eye witnesses and then take the wheel back when no one is around to see. And I'm not sure it was tequila. It might have been redrum.

@Used 2 B Hu where is that fucking unfunny button????
Fernández and one of the other people killed in the crash were seen a popular Miami waterfront "party spot" around 2:00 am Sunday morning. The restaurant has a dock that can be accessed by boaters and is said to be a "short distance" from the crash site.

Sources for Dan Le Batard of ESPN and the Miami Herald have told him that Fernández was drinking that night.

"He left that bar with a bottle of Don Julio [tequila]," Le Batard said on ESPN Radio. "It's a bar you can pull up to in your boat and I know he was drinking."
