I don't mind Sanchez at all. I'd prefer Kap, but honestly I don't care who our QB is as long as he leads the offense and is successful. And part of me wants to see it happen with Sanchez because of the way our rivals' fans have soundly mocked us. It would make Elway look like an even bigger genius than he already does if Sanchez has a career year in Denver and make our rivals' fans think wtf does it take for the Broncos to lose?!

Lol!. Well, unless they work a deal with Kap,which i`m not so sure he`s better option than Sanchez anyway, we better get used to Sanchez or Simian as day one starter because there is no rookie qb in this draft or any other FA Qbs that are a better option at this point, as sad as that is to say. Seriously, I think Denver is screwed anyway you look at it at the Qb spot heading into this season. Brock,Kap,Sanchez,Simiean, draft pk, other FA qb from the terrible fa qb pool out there =.........crap shoot/bummer/ oh shit/ God help us/ mommy!!! :)

TJ Ward on NFLN wasn't too thrilled just yet with our QB situation

“Whenever you don’t have a quarterback, it’s going to impact a team,”he said told Maurice Jones-Drew on NFL Now. “But defensively, we have one mindset: No one scores. So (if) we continue to do that, continue to prepare and dominate on the defensive side, then we’ll be all right. But we got to find someone back there. Right now I think we have Mark Sanchez signed and, um, he … he has some experience in this league (laughs).”

You guys remember the 2005 Broncos right? Jake Plummer, Mike Anderson, Rod Smith...and a pretty solid defense that held opponents to just 16 PPG. That's where I think we're heading in 2016. I recall that offense being relatively consistent, mistake averse, could explode when needed but mostly chewed up clock and scored efficiently. They won games big (49-21 over the Eagles) and they won games tight (20-17 over the Chargers). They finished 13-3 and reached the AFCCG where it was obvious it was just the Steelers year. (It's nice to have given the Steelers a little payback since then, twice ending their season in the playoffs!)

Does anyone think Sanchez can't replicate the kind of game management Plummer gave us in 2005 (3366 passing yards, 60.7% completion, 18 TD, 7 INT)? Does anyone think CJ Anderson and whoever they draft can't replicate Mike Anderson and Tatum Bell's rushing efforts (1,014 and 12 TDs and 921 and 8 TDs respectively). Can DT and Sanders replicate Rod Smith and Ashlie Lelie's production (1105 yards and 6 TDs and 770 yards and 1 TD respectively). In this case I think they can far surpass it even. Can Virgil Green and Jeff Heuerman replicate and surpass the TE production of 2005?

And then there's that defense. Does anyone here not think the 2016 defense, loaded with talent even after the losses of Jackson and Danny T. can still be a dominant force that shuts down opponents? Does anyone think a unit that held the #1, 3, and 4 offenses of 2015 to a measly 44 points in the playoffs, after losing just two players, isn't going to return at a high level in 2016?

I'm not saying this team is going to go 13-3 in 2016 (but I am not ruling it out). All I'm saying is a few weeks into 2016 we are going to all look at each other and say, "We've seen this before."

That's a good observation Knowie.

Plummer's best season -and Kubiak's last in Denver as the OC. One thing Sanchez does really well when rolling out is to square his shoulders up and throw. That play is the Kubiak dagger into the heart of any defense.

The true Kubiak offense = is really the anti- Manning offense. The run sets up the pass - the pass is protected by the element of surprise to the defense. The Manning version of quarterbacking is some much more demanding to exactness than the Kubiak quarterback needs.

So yeah - I agree the offense is going to be better and the defense is going to be more rested - in most games this season.

Good read, thanks! I hated the signing at first. About a week into it I saw two things: 1) how badly the Broncos were being clowned for this move (desperation move, etc) and 2) How happy Sanchez seemed to be with the Broncos, did not expect any guarantees, was willing to compete, and went in and immediately went to work. And that began to sway me on him.

This is a man the league has left for dead. I think he feels he has something to prove and is hungry to show that he is a viable player in this league. He has a skill set that makes him suitable in Kubiak's offense so he may view this as a "now or never" chance for him. This could lead to good things from him for this offense. Give him a chance and he just may have a career year with the Broncos.

It's beginning to remind me of Wade Phillips being a 2nd choice DC last year. :)

Im with IKF on this one. First thought was 'Ugh we have buttfumble for a QB...gross' and while I still don't consider him a great QB, since his signing he has done nothing but make me want him to succeed. Sounds like he knows it is now or never for his career and that could be a good thing for the team. Besides we don't need great QB play if we can maintain our D even a little

I see the Broncs are interested in Hoyer.....he'd have to be the starter imo if they brought him in. Butt-fumble isn't the answer.
