We all hope he is right. I think the Pats would totally do this. I think this would be done by now if these were the numbers. No?

What does Dominik think will happen with Revis this offseason?

“I think Revis stays in New England, and I think you’re going to see Revis on a more marginal deal,” Dominik said Tuesday on ESPN Radio’s “Mike and Mike” program.

“I think when you say marginal, look, I know how important winning was for Darrelle Revis. I think as a player, once you get that elixir that your feel you realize it’s not all about anything else. I think he’s looking for a home, and I think he felt like home was there.

“I think Revis stays at a reasonable rate, whether that’s the $12 to $14 [million per year]. Maybe it’s more the $12 million for five years, at $60 million, and it’s done.

“I think New England is going to get a discount, and I think it’s going to be hard for Revis to not want to stay there.”

We'll find out soon. I still think it can happen and I still say they throw him a nice signing bonus to get it done. I would like to see this done sooner than later, but with BB at Georgia and other schools running camps, he is either not worried or does not care he is about to lose the best CB in the game. IDK to honest....hard for me to grasp that he would let the best CB in the game test FA. Losing DMC would be OK, losing both would be just terrible.

BB has his way of doing things, he has his priorities laid out well in advance.
Either scouting is his priority right now, or letting his key players decompress is his priority.
Either way, I am fairly confident that both DMC and Revis will be back at a fair price.

In BB I trust.

You do realize there is an option in his contract right so if BB doesn't want him to be a FA he wont be he doesn't have to get signed to a new deal.

Would you really want to keep a Corner at a $25 million cap hit though? I mean we would be talking about a top-3 Cap Hit in the NFL being used on a Corner if this were to happen. I just can't see the Patriots deciding that is worth it for this next year knowing they could just lose him the next year.

Actually, they can franchise him next year. They couldn't franchise him this year.

I'm pretty sure he has a clause in his contract that says he cannot be Franchised by the team. This is something that he is usually a pretty big stickler about as he hates the idea of being franchised and not having the chance to maximize his money.

Oh I agree that is a lot of money but I was responding to the one stating how can BB not be worried about his CB going to FA when in fact he isn't and BB doesn't have to worry because at worst he can just pick up his option.

I see your point, but if you know NE and BB, Revis will hit FA before they pay him that. Unless Revis has guaranteed to BB that he will work out a new contract, then he will be a FA. Keeping him at that price leaves them no room for anything else. They are still 4.5m over the cap. I know he under contract, but I think when we saw the deal last yr, we knew he would be a FA. NOW it would not shock me if BB kept him at that price, LOL...I mean he just tagged a kicker over a top 5-10 FS.
