Servais after the game...
“You have got to credit the Brewers,” Servais said after the game, noting Hancock is young and learning. “They were some kind of disciplined this whole series. I’m really impressed. They have a young team, they did not chase. There were a number of edge pitches in this series the Brewers just didn’t swing at.”

"Young team"?

Props to the Brewers and their org from scouts, coaching to ownership... We have a "young team" as well but no discipline... Could it be that Servais is not good at his job? Of course not ;)

Brewers average age: 27.9 (28th Ranked)
Mariners average age: 28.2 (25th Ranked)

What a difference a few months must make...

Luis Castillo is so fucking weird.

He's lost 4 starts in a row now, ending last season with 2 losses to each of the Texas teams which really hurt. He's now lost his first 2 starts of this season. For each of those 4 outings, he's given up 5 or more runs. On the other hand, he's only gotten a total of 8 runs from the M's bats in those 4 starts.

The reason I say he's weird is because before that, he didn't lose a game in 10 straight starts from July through mid September, and won 8 starts of those 10 and giving up very few runs.

Dude is streaky af if you look at last year. Feast or famine.

I predict Berrios will be up to 15 K's before he's done for the night.

I'm guessing this is Toronto's first home game because they are hamming it up like both teams are playing in the world series.

something actually went our way. doubt it will result in a run, but hey, we'll take what we can get.

looks like another big inning coming up for the jays. 2 on nobody out in the bottom of the 8th. just pitiful.

fun fact: after 11 games played, the M’s are the only team in the majors that have not scored more than 6 runs in a game. Bats = non-existence.

Castillo looked like he’s completely checked out. I don’t think he’s actually this bad, he probably don’t wanna be on a bad team.

The owners are getting exactly what they paid for, the team wasn't good enough last year and they shed payroll and made things worse.
The only ones not getting what they paid for are the fans.

Maybe we misheard Dipoto when we got eliminated last season. Are we sure he said 54%?

I'm convinced he meant more like 15.4%. After all, "fifteen-four" sounds an awful lot like "fifty-four".

A couple weeks into the season, and the fact that 4 of 5 of our best hitters, at the top of the lineup are well below the Mendoza line is an absolute embarrassment to the entire organization.

One or two guys with a slow start. Yeah, that can happen. but four of the top five guys and they’re all struggling for two straight weeks with all the various pitchers they’ve seen.

Who the hell comes into Opening Day that poorly prepared?

That got me thinking that we went through this last year as well. So maybe time to find a new way to ramp up spring training is needed.

Weird stat:

M's pitchers gave up 91 Home Runs on the road last year.

M's pitchers gave up 93 Home Runs at home last year. Marine layer???
