When I was younger I remember how much fun it was to look through box scores a couple weeks into the season and see which players still had batting averages above .400. Now all I see are batting averages in the ones. Depressing

Well at least it wasn’t a sweep fellas. Positives, the Mariners only need to have a starter go 7 plus with 1 or fewer runs given up to win. Other positives is the offense has sucked so can only go up and it’s not like the division is out hand right now.

I think you're giving them way too much credit than they deserved. I don't know what "a game were the Mariners start being themselves" actually meant, because nothing actually happened with a ton of strikeouts until the extra frame. They were also very fortunate Gilbert was sharp enough to kept them in the game. This was a game that I would be happy to see if it was Felix pitching back then, but still frustrated enough due to the lack of runs support.
