Don't let him judge how you sport fan. There are no rules to who anyone follows or how far you go with it. Even 'bandwagon' fan parjoritives are nonsense. We are all way more involved with the M's than they deserve, but I don't blame any fan that doesn't come back to it until the play on the field makes them pay attention.Well Huskies in football Zags in basketball. I grew up as a Beavers basketball fan back when they were #1 in the country then became a Huskies basketball fan a few years later as well as their football fan. Then a Zags fan maybe 20 years ago. I actually played against a guy in high school who went on to play for the Zags. I wasn't a fan of his or them back then in the late 80's, early 90's. He played for our cross-town rivals. He was 6'7", his teammates were 6'9" and 6'4" and their shooting guard led the state in scoring. I was 6'0" and played center for us. We lost to them 18-16 when the guard hit a 10 footer to take the lead and I missed a 40 footer when it hit the bracket. No clock or 3-pointer back then. So I guess I have always pulled for the underdog which is where being a Mariners fan comes in. Hopeless has been my life's work...
I like different teams at different times in a secondary following. I have always liked the Hawks, Blazers and Mariners. Said before I liked the Reds prior to Mariners. I should have never changed.Don't let him judge how you sport fan. There are no rules to who anyone follows or how far you go with it. Even 'bandwagon' fan parjoritives are nonsense. Like many UW fans, I soft root for WSU when it isn't against UW. My son went to Penn State and I've followed them for years because of that connection and went back there for this years first visit by UW as a new member of the B1G. Also being a fan of whoever it is that plays Oregon is another angle many have against whoever their particular hated rival is.
I don't follow any level of basketball and really haven't since the Sonics were stolen from us. I probably haven't sat through more than 8 or 9 college games since then, even when Romar had them playing decent ball for a bit. They could go on a major run and I'd probably not pay any attention. That's just how my interest is.
You do you and stay true to the blue (lol).
I don't know how much I can handle the M's this year, but I'm sure I'll watch more than they deserve for me to and yet likely less than last year unless some crazy changes happen that we do not see on the horizon as of yet.
Yeah..it's ..agrivation....ya know.I like different teams at different times in a secondary following. I have always liked the Hawks, Blazers and Mariners. Said before I liked the Reds prior to Mariners. I should have never changed.
College likes depend on players and coaches at any given time, but I grew up in a Huskies house so I stick with them. I am also anti-Oregon. I had a hard time liking Romar's no-defense teams. He seemed like a good guy, but when he said he couldn't teach defense to guys that didn't want to play it well that ended it for me. I have coached in high school and I guarantee you can coach defense to anybody. And those who don't want to play it, don't play. Pretty simple.
Bandwagon talk is so nonsense in my world. People say that fans that are negative towards their team are bandwagon. It is the opposite. Only a real fan can argue about their own team.
Anywho, good having you back on here. Seems to be once a month for you making you the smartest man around. LOL!
