Ya he has moved up fast as anyone. Hopefully this is Lewis 2.0.Well F. On a positive note though he won’t be dealt. I’ve listened to a few prospects podcasts that have him as the number 1 in the system.

Wait... wasn't he brought in to be a spot starter? Why wasn't he the guy when they had to scratch Woo?
Well maybe I spoke too soon.Ya he has moved up fast as anyone. Hopefully this is Lewis 2.0.

Mariners Lose Top Prospect For Season to Devastating Injury, Here's the Impact
As was feared over the last few days, Seattle Mariners' top prospect Jonny Farmelo has suffered a devastating knee injury that will cost him the rest of the season - and likely some of next season.www.yardbarker.com
I’m not a doctor but it seems this injury is thus far a lot better than Lewis having to have two complete knee surgeries in 3 years. Just think it’s a tad early to do any comps to Lewis.Well maybe I spoke too soon.

We can hope. I don't want to see any kid go through what Lewis did.I’m not a doctor but it seems this injury is thus far a lot better than Lewis having to have two complete knee surgeries in 3 years. Just think it’s a tad early to do any comps to Lewis.
Plus I hope the organization actually treats this way different than whatever was going on with Lewis.
No, while I’m not crying for him cause he made money. But his baseball career I wouldn’t wish upon anyone. We can hope. I don't want to see any kid go through what Lewis did.
With all that speed, Ford shouldn't be squatting behind the plate 9 innings a day, 6 days a week. I guess he is the heir apparent to Raleigh but, as much as I hate the Mariner brain trusts switching the prospects from their natural positions, this might be one time when it is called for.
The Mariners don't need Ford right now anyway. Garver is now the second-string catcher and his bat is starting to wake up. Young isn't needed right now either. We have a 9-game lead and Bliss has blended with the roster quite nicely. His future in MLB is probably more of a utility guy so he may as well stay here. Young's future in MLB, at least for now, projects to starter, so he needs to stay in Arkansas, or Tacoma, and keep building his minor league resume.I don't think the Mariners have any intention of bringing up Ford or Young to the Majors. I was under the impression a promotion from AA to AAA is so that if an MLB player is injured its easier to bring someone from Tacoma to Seattle on short notice as opposed to Arkansas.
I do agree about Celesten getting promoted especially him being 18 and there is no point in keeping him at the lowest level to dominate. Now who would they promote to create space is a good question because its not like any of the infield prospects are exactly lighting the world on fire.
Joe Mauer and Buster Posey are good examples too. With all that speed, Ford shouldn't be squatting behind the plate 9 innings a day, 6 days a week. When Jason Kendall came up with the Pirates as a catcher, he was an effective base stealer, but that was over by the time he was 25-years-old. Craig Biggio came up as catcher too and was also a good base stealer but the Astros wisely moved him to a different position before his knees got destroyed.
One thing I’d like to see them experiment with when Polanco comes back and they send him down is see if he play OF.The Mariners don't need Ford right now anyway.
