When he went nose to nose with that veteran catcher at the dish about a month ago, I knew he had the warrior spirit right then.

SumTin WONG plays like he could care less and Caballero plays like his life depends on it.

With Dylan Moore returning and w/ the way Caballero is playing, I think Wong could get DFA'd...

Is it safe to say that when Dylan Moore comes back Wong gets DFA'd you think?

Really had much higher hopes for Wong but the dude just doesn't have it and has to go with the emergence of Cabby.

That said, I'm pleasantly surprised by Cabby and though Wong has cost us a couple of games we are better off with a young option at 2B rather than a filler in Wong. Wong was never going to be a part of the nucleus five years from now, and not saying Cabby will, but the potential is there for him to lock that position up. He's gritty, starting to show some consistency, and showcasing some power as of late. His growth will be fun to watch.

I wouldnt release Wong because we need depth I would definitely slash his ABs I think Cabellero is really making the most of his opportunity which is what we love to see. Either way I said the biggest concern going into the season is this offense ability to put up runs because the way the rotation is pitching is outstanding. This lineup needs to collectively pick it up.

That should happen, but it isn't the Mariners way. Dipoto would have to eat crow on the trade and that isn't his specialty. They should have aimed higher on him and Frazier the year before.

Did any of you guys see Jose Caballero coming?

I think the FO would be lying if they said they did. I will say I was way more disappointed that Moore had a set back than thought the dude was anything more than a taxi squad who would go up and down. The Mariners desperately deserve to have a few of guys like him make it in the big leagues.

I was digging on him weeks ago on this board. Right after he got called up.

Just something about him is baller. I saw it in the way he carried himself on and off the field.

All he needed was a chance and he is making the best of it.

With the way he's playing, Wong needs to be on the bench.

I liked him in spring training. I didn't know anything about him so I had to look him up and see his age and how we acquired him. Just thought he was a scrapper.

I didn't even know he was in the organization a few months ago, but I really like him. I don't care about Wong's background, Caballero deserves to start.
