What is with teams using position players to pitch against us? Last series the Angels threw Jack Mayfield out for an inning, last night the A’s used Sheldon Neuse.

Many guys up and down the line up need to get there head right and start mashing the ball.

I have yet to see Upton barrel a single pitch up yet ? And yes that is counting foul balls. He just looks old and slow out there.

TBH- I am not that impressed with the last 2 games with Oakland. I mean, yeah, it's nice to see a couple W's for this team but Oakland is at the bottom of all MLB teams. pct. of .333 BEFORE Wednesday's loss. Beating Oakland is nothing to call home about.

Of course we shouldn't overstate the last two games. This did this before, solid wins on the road and then right back to garbage play.

You hope they find a spark and start hitting on a more consistent basis, but right now I'm going to have to see it over a longer period and against some better pitching before I'll buy that it is a trend vs a blip.

The Rays have been no hit A LOT, even in their more recent good seasons. Pitching throughout the league is pretty OP these days.

Interestingly enough half of the Rays no-hitters were perfect games. But if you look deeper at who no-hit them.. these were elite pitchers. Just over the past decades. The perfect games were from Buehrle, Braden and Felix.

M's got no-hit by random pitchers and combination of pitchers.

Still, your point stands with pitching being elite these days. It's what we have to contend with post-steroid era.
