"Just yesterday, the reports indicated that the Mariners were "back in business" in their pursuits of Nelson Cruz and Fernando Rodney, and their pursuit of Cruz appears to be picking up. MLB Network Radio's Jim Bowden said on the air today that the Mariners could make an offer to Cruz as early as today ([ame="[MEDIA=twitter]428968741376765952[/MEDIA]"]Twitter link[/ame] from MLBN Radio).

Seattle is "clearly the best fit" for Cruz in Bowden's mind, he added."

I dont see the Mariners being a threat at all even if they do add Cruz,dont like there bullpen or rotation. if they do get Cruz he will be traded at deadline for prospects.

Not to mention Cruz has been a terrible hitter at Safeco field.

How do you not like their rotation? They have 3 stud/very good starters...that's more than most teams can say.

I don't know, kinda like the protection in the lineup that Cruz can provide for Cano. As for Rodney, they need a solid closer, Wilhelmsen was shaky last year.

If they get both of them, they become a tough opponent in the AL West which is shaping up to be a very tough division. At least we get to play the Astros a lot still!

Agreed. They have a solid rotation, could turn out to be one of the best 1-2-3 punches in the league. Adding Cano was huge, but they need that second big bat, IMO, Cruz can provide that despite poor numbers.
