Guys, I pulled this out of the Boston Globe, interesting contract terms regarding Savard:

Now, as for Savard, and the growing speculation that he’ll be traded, the 33-year-old pivot has an interesting menu of trade exceptions built into his new seven-year “no-trade’’ contract. He cannot be traded prior to the upcoming 2010-11 season. However, the Bruins gain more trade flexibility with his contract as the years go by.

To wit:

■In 2011-12 — Savard can be dealt to Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, Philadelphia and/or Chicago.

■In 2012-13 — The previous five clubs remain in play, along with Florida, Tampa, New York Rangers, Washington and/or Pittsburgh.

■In 2013-14 — Can be traded to any club in the Eastern Conference.

■In 2014-15 — Can be traded to any NHL club.

Reportedly, Savard may be on the move because of family issues...

Yesterday, an NHL source confirmed that Boston Bruins centre Marc Savard was willing to waive his no-trade clause if it meant a move to either Toronto or Ottawa.

The 32-year-old is reportedly going through family issues and would like to be closer to his wife's home in Oshawa, Ont. Savard, an Ottawa native, played his junior hockey with the Oshawa Generals.

Kaberle sticking with Leafs, at least for now

Not sure how this is gonna turn out, or how willing the Bruins will be to accommodate Savard and his personal problems. Tough one.

I really don't see why Bryan Murray is not even considering trying to get Savard. The Sens have the better D prospects and it seems like that's what the Bruins want.

I'd trade Foligno and Cowen or Wiercioch in a heartbeat for Savard to tell you the truth which is better then Grabovski and another player...

I really don't see what Murray is waiting for but it's nothing new.

I'm surprised there haven't been more Savard/Spezza trade rumors. Both players are said to be on the trading block. Boston would have to add more (Blake Wheeler?) but both teams could make out well.

I don't know if the Bruins would want Spezza though because his cap hit is much higher then Savard's is. Maybe but I doubt it. I think the Bruins are content with Bergeron, Krejci and Seguin down the middle next year.

I was think more along the lines of a Spezza and Savard combo down the middle...:D

Murray is just too stupid to even attempt such a thing though.
