Broken right foot. Huge blow for Memphis. Wonder if they start to blow it up.

Blowing it up would be a really bad decision. They're not a slumping team.

Conley becomes a FA this summer, Randolph is getting up there in age, Jeff Green and Courtney Lee are both reported to be on the block and have been for a while now.

Shit
He's out?
Better drop him on the list under Tristan?

Wiggy releases a list of the top centers, hours later the top center on his list is out for the year. Coincidence? I think not. #WiggyCurse
Cousins is second on his list, shit. Be careful Boogie!

They've peaked though. They had their chances but couldn't break through. You have to consider it

??? what? of course they should blow it up. Conley is a free agent. Their best player just got hurt from the year- and its not like they were winning anything anyway. It was an old slow team to begin with.

trade Randolph to the Raptors for that Knicks pick- thrown whatever you have to- resign Conley (if he will resign) and rebuild around Conley, and Gasol and 2 lotto picks.

Wiggy gonna pick off every center on that list until TT is worth his contract. :heh:
hes worth his contract now. When the Lakers are paying DeMar Derozan 26 million a year- please come back and tell me how tristan thompson making 16 is outrageous - while comparable players will be signing for WAY more.

I don't need to wait. I can tell you right now. Tristan isn't worth his contract and never will be.

I will say this though, as I have all along, he is worth it to the Cavs, IF they win a title. However, short of that, he isn't and he certainly isn't worth that money to any other team in the league.

If he was on any other team producing the numbers he is, with the contract he has, you'd shredding that team for overpaying him, especially if it were the Heat or Lakers paying him.

Wiggy, you are going overboard with your love for Thompson. DeRozan is NOT comparable to him whatsoever. He's a bonafide scorer that's leading (along w/Lowry) the 2nd best team in the East. He may not be a super star, but he is a legit #2/3 option on a playoff team. Whenever you consistently average over 20PPG for three straight seasons before you turn 27 then I think we can all agree he deserves a monster pay day.

They remind me of Minny when they had KG the first time. Really good team that just couldn't quite make that next step.

I can't imagine him being back this season. Gotta be careful with bigs and foot injuries.

Yeah, I'd say he's 99.999% done for the regular season. MAAAYBE he returns for the playoffs assuming Memphis doesn't completely collapse, but even that's a long shot.

I wouldn't rush the recovery process for the playoffs this year. He's a 31 year old big. Take the appropriate time and get him ready for next season.

For sure. They aren't winning anything this year with or without him anyways.

The biggest factor in all this is that if the Grizzlies don't make the playoffs, or have a really bad first round exit, Conley leaving seems more and more plausible.

If that happens, the Grizzlies are in for a major overhaul. The problem for them is that they just don't have many tradeable assets outside of Gasol and Randolph. They don't have any real young talent on the roster. When you have a journeyman like Barnes come in and stabilize your SF position, you're really in trouble.

Brutal for a team that has been consistently good, but never able to get over the hump. They still will have Gasol, so that should help for a faster turnaround.
