It is going to be interesting to watch the Sanders return to the lineup. Last I read was he would be "ready" for game one. So fine - more reps for Sutton, Hamilton and Patrick - et al - the TEs ought to get more reps too - all to get ready for the Flacco era of Bronco football (may be short). I don't care how ready Sanders is physically on week one, but without practicing with the team and the QB - how effective can he be?
In that kind of situation I think Sanders ought to be the announced starter - play a couple of plays or a series of downs and get replaced by the hot hand from the pre-season. Work Sanders back into full time with practice reps - and spot playing. Getting a 100% heathy Sanders in sync with the Starter Flacco - means a lot more going into the playoff stretch than it does in the earlier games.
The Sanders return to full duty is one of the those things that could be handled well and become a plus or handled wrongly and be a distraction. Vic Fangio will be put to the test with this situation. I believe this is just the kind of thing Fangio will prove masterful in blending the Sanders' contribution back to full time starter.
