That's not how Karma works.

Sucks about Malkin. He can't catch a break!

Meh, if you want to equate it to that... by all means, go ahead.

Like I said, nothing against Pens fans, but it seems since that hit on Savard, two of the Pens players have gone down with serious injuries.

I usually don't subscribe to the karma factor when it comes to the pricks of the NHL. They get what's coming to them, eventually.

Well would you look at that. A classy comment directed towards the Penguin fan-base. Haven't seen one of those in a while.

and Im a canucks fan :) when willie mitchell played for us. that being said I dont take any pleasure in any team losing a star player (and Im not saying that anyone here is taking pleasure in this I understand what they are saying)

I would not be a happy fan if we lost Daniel or Henrik or Kesler. I would be sad, crushed all of the above. so I do feel for pens fans in this. even if this was detroit or calgary or chicago.

I agree. It sucks that we don't get to see some of the best players in hockey because of injury, but it's even worse when some asshole injures them with a cheap, dirty hit. Losing Malkin is big, and if Crosby's concussion costs him his season, or even worse his career, it's a huge blow to the Pens.

yeah that bugs me a ton. and that Caps player got NO suspension I believe for the Crosby hit. I believe Malkins injury was a cheap hit as well? or was it more accident. Losing Savard probably for his career is pathetic that cooke never got a big suspension. hes been allowed to hurt so many and never gets the worst of anything. this suspension is light.

Losing Malkin is a major blow to their playoff chances, but it's not the end of the world. The bigger hit to take would be not getting Crosby back.

If Sid regains his health in time for the playoffs, I have faith that Shero is going to stock the shelves with some talent. He'll have plenty of space in regards to the salary cap with Geno on the LTIR. And, Ray has proven over the years that he can wheel and deal with the best of them.

To comment on the karma thing...well, I don't subscribe to that theory in general, but I sincerely feel that Cooke will get his justice on a personal level. Not because of karma, but because he's ticking people off. And gosh, if this concussion costs Sid his career it'd be one of the biggest tragedies in NHL history (behind all lives cut short of course...). The thought is just depressing. I really think that the Canadian media is making hockey fans feel more angst about his injury than there really is though. The Pens haven't changed his status in awhile now, but the rumors are swirling. Shero even said he's doing functional rehab and they never considered shutting him down, but the thought still lingers because of those dang rumors.

On the Geno thing...this is old news. Honestly, I don't know why they even bothered pursuing another opinion. A tear of the ACL in a pro-athlete is nearly 100% surgical. Even if it's not full length or width, it's surgical. Regardless, they had to wait for his swelling to go down anyway. Pens fans just be happy that ACL surgery has come leaps and bounds from what it once was: long leg cast, immobilized for a few months, out for 9-12 months. Now they start moving it after surgery. Literally right after surgery.

I agree, but seeing the long list of players who have had their careers ended prematurely, you really have to worry about Sid's future. Cooke isn't the only d-bag in the league, and it wouldn't surprise me if others started taking runs at Sid to get him off his game, or even worse, attempt to injure him again. This is a worse case scenario for the NHL and until they show they're really committed to stopping these cheap, dirty hits, the fans, and even worse the players, will suffer the consequences.

The Sid one...well, it's still borderline IMO, but with my tinted glasses I wonder if that was worthy of at least a penalty on the play. Although it was incidental contact he crushed his head. The Geno one was complete accident. Geno's always been Gumby around the ice, getting funny hits and taking spills, but never really getting hurt. Until the innocent hit into the boards. Meyers fell into him, but nothing cheap about it.
