1) I want you to pay me millions of dollars, which is supported by the NFL, which is supported by the media;
2) But I don't want to talk to the media;
3) And I don't want to pay a fine for not talking to the media, even though my agreement with the NFL says I have to;
4) And I've never had the SuperBowl experience before, but I don't want to take it all in and show that to the media;
5) And I don't want to show any emotion or appreciation to the fans and the media, all of whom without I would not be getting millions of dollars.

But please still do pay me and don't fine me.:bullshit:

Where does this come from? You're placing a tone on him that he has never shown. He tries to avoid the fines but he has said before that he's so uncomfortable in those situations that the fines are almost worth it.

As far as the fans? He has a great relationship with the fans here because he leaves it all on the field. We dont hold it against him that he doesn't like talking to the media. When he was going to be fined 50k a few weeks ago, some fans starting raising money because they didn't feel like he needed to talk to the media if he didn't want to. Of course he didn't need the money and he just matched it and donated it all to charity. Which is what everyone expected him to do, including the guys running the fund raiser. It was just a way of showing that the fans are fine with him being himself and dont need him to do anything other run mother fuckers over. He knows the fans love him in Seattle, does he really NEED to prove anything to anyone else?

yup was just gonna say the same damn thing. For some reason a lot of people don't like seattle. and those people will criticize ANYTHING they do. weather its talking too much or not enough.

Hater: Sherman should shut his mouth and let his play on the field do the talking....

Hater: you know what Lynch is paid million of dollars he needs to quit whining and talk to the damn media....

haters gonna hate. hypocrites gonna hypocrite.

Sherman wasn't jumped on for talking to the media, he was jumped on for going WWE with the media and being a douche bag.

I haven't criticized Lynch at all. I said if he felt that strongly about it - just take the fine and leave it at that. I saw the interview and he didn't look comfortable at all. I don't doubt that he could have some sort of social anxiety disorder. If he was smart he'd get a doctor to back him on that and he'd have an excuse for future media events.

Do your job. You are getting paid handsomely & this is part of the job. If you want to forfeit 50k each time you skip these media functions, then do it & don't complain about the fine.

No sympathy.

You say that like he complains about the fines and asks for sympathy.

You say that like he didn't fight or appeal his fine.

Appealing a fine is not the same as complaining about it. I've appealed every traffic ticket I've ever received. That doesn't mean I was complaining about it or expecting to get out of it. I was just taking advantage of the appeal system in place, why wouldn't you do that? Is he supposed to like being fined?

That being said, "I'm only here so I don't get fined" is whining about having to do it or get fined for not doing it.

Either do it or don't do it, just accept the consequences either way.

Personally, I'd have stayed in my hotel room (motel room? What's the difference?) and played XBox or got some more work done watching game film. Fine me. So what? I'm making so much money I'm not going to feel it anyway.

Or maybe it's just stating a fact.

But why do that?

Isn't that drawing even MORE attention to yourself when you don't want any drawn to you at all?

It seems he made his own situation a lot worse.

He could have saved himself the trouble by just skipping the event OR faking a phone call he had to take and jetting after a few minutes.

Because he was uncomfortable. Some people blurt shit out when they feel cornered. They'll just say what's on their mind because they dont know what else to say.

I do agree that he should have skipped it. I'm sure how he feels now too.

You act like $100k is pocket change. Even though these guys make millions, that does not mean they want to throw away what they do have.

I think hotels have the doors on the inside and motels have doors on the outside.

100k IS pocket change when you make the kind of money he does. Hell, I'd have paid it just to save myself the aggrevation of going. If I use that time studying the Denver Broncos - that's extra time I got preparing for the game that my opponent didn't get.

Money well spent.

Not all these guys want to burn through their money, they know their shelf life.

And you would be filing for bankruptcy with Vince Young shortly after your checks stopped coming in.

Lynch has never been known to be a talker. He plays the game and does it well. He will never go into commenting or any part of the media as many other players do after their career ends. Once he plays his final game ,he will most likely never be involved in the game unless it is coaching somewhere. IMO he decided to attend the Media Day to keep the media from continuing to comment on his intentions of not speaking....a fact that all media outlets have been commenting on for a few days now. He simply just didn't want to take away from the team and make him the focus of the media frenzy.
