Stills is one of the best deep threats in the NFL. The overall money 32M/4 is not ridiculous at all, esp. with the cap rise.
So, it begins, the rationalizing of every Homer teams signings.... Before you take offense the fact the Bucs are probably going to sign some fucking pansy Cal Bear is Disturbing, until it happens......

8M per year for one of best deep threats in the NFL is not a bad deal.

As for Miami, I think the Andre Branch signing is more questionable.
20 mill for a deep threat is absurrd

That is one where just need to see the actual numbers. 16 million guaranteed includes signing bonus, base salary, and then any other up front money they want to pay. Throw in with the 49ers having so much cap space this year makes sense to get the big cap hits out this year and then smaller ones over the next few years. You ahve the money so spend big now
then spend on good players

"Vernon Davis, Andre Branch, Jermaine Gresham, and now Kenny Stills. All have been grossly overpaid. Stills, especially, as he's getting $20 million guaranteed for some reason. Stills, in two years with the Dolphins, has caught 69 passes for 1,126 yards. He did record nine touchdowns in 2016, but scored just thrice the year before, as end-zone receptions tend to fluctuate a lot. I wouldn't count on Stills getting more than a half-dozen scores in 2017.

Stills is a No. 3 wideout. He's a situational deep threat who drops a lot of passes. He's 12th in our 2017 NFL Free Agent Wide Receiver Rankings as a two-star player and should've gotten about $5 million guaranteed, at most, on a 4-year deal.

Well last time Garçon and Shanahan were together he had almost 1400 yards receiving. Throw in if they get Cousins in a trade they have one of his favorite weapons already locked up.

So how much is the Best Deep Threat worth?

To each their own, but there are 19 WRs in the NFL that counted for 8M vs the cap this past season.

24 WRs counted for at least 7M.

The salary cap has been jacked up for 2017. Players are going to make a little more money in free agency.

I haven't spoken with a single Dolphins fan upset with the Stills contract. He had a big drop Week One, but has made a lot of plays in the deep passing game for Miami. He had the 3rd highest yards per reception in the NFL last season, to go along with 9 TDs on only 47 receptions. He has a solid rapport with Tannehill, and probably keeps a safety further away from the LOS.

On the other hand, Andre Branch, I believe we overpaid for, even though I'm sure we either matched his best offer.

Greater than 12M in current cap dollars. Dolphins are pretty much saying we don't plan on cutting out in this deal so we'll offer more guaranteed money to lower AAV. Randall Cobb two pffseasons ago got 10M AAV.

I'm starting to look at which deals AREN'T ludicrous.

Giving a full back 10.5 million in guarantees is beyond ludicrous. They've definitely went plaid on that one.

Cash frenzy in FA this season... Pretty wild, but somewhat expected with the Salary cap rise. Lots of teams have loads of extra cash to spend.
