Scotchy Scotch Scotch!
NHL now has a hearing with lucic tomorrow sad they waited to find out he had a concussion to call it.
Are we sure about this? and actually, it was a slash, it just didn't connect. I'm pretty sure players have been penalized, and even fined, for the same attempted slash b4, but I could be mistaken.
he Buffalo Sabres will be without Ryan Miller for an undetermined amount of time because of a concussion.
Sabres general manager Darcy Regier told the Buffalo News on Sunday night, that the netminder, who was run over by Boston Bruins forward Milan Lucic in the first period of Saturday's loss, will not suit up on Monday against the Canadiens.
i think we all agree that goalies should be fair game that far out of the crease. However, as of now the rules state otherwise so it's irrelevant to the present situation.
Lucic knew full well that he wasn't going to get to the puck and decided to take a run at miller. He probably also knew that miller wasn't going to be expecting hit like that knowing the current rules
But miller needs to shut the fuck up. if he would of stayed in the crease where he belongs, this wouldn't of happened.
So you acknowledge that Miller was allowed to play the puck that far out of the crease, and that the rules are there that allow a goalie to do so without getting hit intentionally, but you don't think he has a right to be pissed about it, and he should stay in the crease and allow the next guy to have a breakaway on him?
Makes sense.

I think this is bullshit. Miller was out of the crease. That means he's fair game. After all the whining & crying Miller, Ruff & Regier have done Shanahan is going to have a face to face with Lucic. This is ridiculous.
no it doesn't. it should, but it doesn't.
as the rules are right now, you can't hit a goalie anywhere, for any reason.
Really? My bad then. I thought it was only in the trapezoid that a goalie wasn't fair game.
no prob. there seems to be a fair bit of confusion about it in the thread.
Official Rules - Rule 69: Interference on the Goalkeeper - NHL.com - Rules
61.2 Penalty - In all cases in which an attacking player initiates intentional or deliberate contact with a goalkeeper, whether or not the goalkeeper is inside or outside the goal crease, and whether or not a goal is scored, the attacking player will receive a penalty (minor or major, as the Referee deems appropriate).
edit: not to sway off topic, but I am also a non-fan of the trapziod. Sure, keep it. But make it the only goalie safe zone for handling the puck, can play the puck ANYWHERE outside of there or the crease and he's a skater. Handle the puck with care.

LUCIC:
"He came out of his net. I was going full speed," he told NHL.com. "There's not much I can do. So that's basically it."
lol
ohhhh Milan... we all saw it. I think we all saw that you had time to make a course adjustment.. lol
I'm thinking you've changed directions on the ice in that much space before. Or at least did you had ample time to... at a minimum you know a few maneuvers... you could have started lazily listing to the left ..
really... NOBODY caught this?
you people disappoint me sometimes

If Looch gets five it'll be fucking ridiculous. I'll take two games and deal with it, anything more, fuck that.
