I've been bitching for years that we don't select enough interior lineman and it makes us a weak team. This year we took a guard and two DTs in the first three rounds. Our other two picks were a physical corner and a receiver that can actually catch the ball. These are solid picks.

When you look at most drafts under Marv we normally reach for tweener linebackers, receivers that are fast but unpolished, and raw potential with personal problems.

This draft has been refreshing.

Except now we have to overstock on DL, and that is even after cutting one guy (probably Geathers) meaning now DE goign to be drafted, and we will have to go light elsewhere on defense..and that will probably be LB, where we are pushing the limit right now, even though 1 sucks, and 2 are solid backups, and one is a pass rushing LB only.

Don't expect a DE or LB selected here with our next 5 picks without cutting someone decent.

One of the DT should have been a LB or DE.

This looks like a Pitt/Balt draft to me.

The Bengals and the draft have been trending this way (positive) since 2010.

Weird.

I'd rather take a DT who is really talented than a DE or LB'er that isn't. We are in the 4th now, is any DE or LB'er really going to be better than what we have anyways? Draft another WR, a RB, an OL, a backup QB and a FB or TE or H-Back.

Understand, all positions of need basically, not a 2nd DT.

I am sorry, I am NEVER goign to get behind this idea of drafting DT in the 2nd and 3rd with 4 solid guys already on the roster at that position, and none are expected to get cut.

Three positions of need (CB, WR, G) were all addressed with people capable of starting right away and upgrading those positions....then they went after what they thought were value players in the interior line of the defense...in retrospect I have to say good job.....

Of course...none of these guys are going to play for the next 2 seasons. That's just how we roll.

Have you ever considered the notion that our tackles aren't any good? Maybe Zimmer saw enough when Ray Rice and Arian Foster marched right through the D. As good as Atkins has been, he still isn't a three down defensive linemen. Peko has been solid but not sensational. Simms is one dimensional. Geathers will be cut. Dunlap is a pussy and he doesn't like football. The two ends we picked up in FA were prior busts with major question marks.

Rebuilding the line was a smart move - One the Bengals never make.

Cincigrad, don't forget that Simms was hurt for last two games where they were really gashed up the middle. They are much better against the run with him in there. I really like the depth they added, though. However, we still have a stiff at middle linebacker that I am afraid we will have to live through for another year.

Love the draft so far. Didn't reach and took best available in the two DTs. Love the Sanu pick. He'll create enough separation with his size. All time single season record for receptions with a crappy QB and no real running game to help. I think he will surprise a lot of people.
