I have hunted big game for over 45 years, ALWAYS had respect for ANY animal I took life away from with a kill. The animals always ended up on the dinner table and I was always grateful for that as they helped feed the family thru the winters.

I don't boast about kills and I certainly don't post em on a CF forum. Sure there is a more applicable place on here for that.

Spot lighting was more of a muse statement than anything else. I'm sure your kill was legal. Enjoy.

hamburger meat, cube steaks, jalapeno and cheese summer sausage, breakfast sausage... not sure what else

I didn't get very much of the sausage... I'll probably shoot a doe later on and get some more sausage and beef jerkey made and just have the majority of it donated... we found a place that will donate the meat from your deer to the food bank for 30 bucks

The reality is Texas is being overrun by white tail. since man has wiped out their natural predators, we have to control the populations now. I'm not a hunter, but realize the importance of it. As long as you eat what you kill, I think the Lord is probably even ok with it. Can't really catch and release deer.

We have the same problems with overpopulation up here...without hunting season, too many deer would move into urban areas, causing tons of problems.
