From todays sports section rundown of the game:

"But at the very least, the Broncos may have proved to themselves, if not quite the rest of the NFL, that the 43-8 whipping they took from the Seahawks back in February was somewhat fluky.

Even if it as a fluke (which is probably was) there's nothing they can do to change that.

You're delusional if you honestly think Seattle is 35 points better than Denver on a neutral field.

Actually we were 35 points better on a neutral field... That's the reality of what happened... How is that delusional when it's reality.... ??

You honestly think everytime they play on a neutral field last year that the final result would be 43-8? Seriously and you guys wonder why nobody on here likes Seattle fan.

It's ok to admit that if your team played Denver 5 more times at met life that they wouldn't win by 35 points.

Seahawks played great in the SB and Denver played like shit. Congrats Seattle. I can understand how a Seattle fan might think it's disrespectful to write that win off as a mere "fluke". At the same time, I think it's naive to think that how that game unfolded precisely reflects the relative strengths of the two teams. I suspect that is why whoever wrote that piece characterizes the game as a "fluke".

OH ok well I misunderstood what your point was.... Most NFL teams let alone Super Bowl teams don't beat each other by 35 points... Things kinda spiraled downhill for Denver that game.... I still think we win again though if we played again... Not by 35 but we still would a got um... We were locked in and our D was at another level...

So then literally every outcome that happens is a fluke? Because the exact same results may not happen every time if they play the game 100 times?

What a bunch of bullshit. Nothing fluky about what really happens.

Really dumb thread. Poor Seattle is disrespected by the Denver Post. Just how much celebration is due? LOL

New season. Week 3 isn't too far away.

By this logic if Denver would have won by 3 that would have been a fluke. Because Seattle was is the type of team that could beat them by 35 points, and if they would have played 100 times Seattle would have won more games?

Why should it shock anyone that you entirely miss the point of his post. A preseason game, especially the first one, proves nothing about a team vs any other team. It just doesn't.

No, you go off on some tangent about playing them 5 times? :L

The truth is no one knows what would have happened with more games. Would they ALL be Seattle blow outs? Almost certainly not, but any speculation about what could have happened is just that, speculation.

Jesus dude. Quit trying so hard to pick fights with Hawks fans.

"Desperate"? How so? It's just dumb. Do you expect the DP to publish articles about how unworthy the Broncos are of taking the field against Seattle?

Either way, a new season is about to begin. Can't wait for Week 3.

Saying any team proved any thing on the first preseason game is a bit far fetch, don't you think?

Calling the results of a game after the fact "fluky" is desperate.

Come on TD's, you are above this stuff. One of the good guys as it were.

So a Hawks fan makes a thread about an article where the writer could be reaching to absurd conclusions from a preseason game. Thread worthy? Probably not, but a big deal? Not really.

Of course it is. I also think it's far fetched to think that Seattle is as much better than Denver as the SB suggests. Good news, of course, is that we get to see further indications in a few weeks.

The Lions went 4-0 in pre-season the same season they went 0-16. Pre-season is uber important.

.

Just because its far fetched to believe that they would beat them by 35 every time they hypothetically play doesn't make it fluky that they did when they actually played.

Again, if Denver had won by three, would you roll your eyes if the Seattle Times said that it was fluky because the Hawks have the ability to beat them handily? I would.

But that's the point. You don't get 5 shots at a team. You get 1 shot at a team and Denver wilted under the pressure. They play in week 3 in a game that actually means something so why don't we reserve judgement until then.
