KHL announced that Finnish D Sami Lepistö, Chicago and CAN G Curtis Sanford, Columbus have signed for returning club Lokomotiv Yaroslavl

with the track record of how things are run. its not really a insensitive thought. it could really happen but as we all hope won't ever again anywhere.

it will be a very very emotional year for that team its players fans and league

Hopefully that incident was a wake-up call to the Russian aviation authorities.

As horrible as it is, sometimes that type of high profile incident is what it takes to get people motivated. And the Russians love their hockey, so losing an entire team like that was going to hit harder than an equal number of "regular" people.

With the tragedy aside, I think this is a great move for Sanford to get his career jump-started. He's going to a team that the world will be rooting for. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see more acquisitions like this for this club.
