I'm not sure where this theory that good RBs are always available. If that were the case, almost every team would have good ones and we know thats not the case. Good RBs make all the difference in the world.

Imo, good o-linemen make a bigger difference...

I agree TP but I dont like having a good oline and thinking that anyone can run behind it. Lol

If it's good enough anyone can run behind it.

See: Gary, Olandis.

Bell would have a monster season behind a good oline. Rbs are definitely overrated.

That might be true and if so, imagine what a better RB than him would do.

I agree, a better rb would do better than bell if the lions could create space. Since they cant, any RB that the lions draft will struggle.

Bell will fumble no matter who blocks for him.

Dudes not starter material. He's a backup.

solve that problem by drafting FB Jalston Fowler, out of Bama, and he'd be the guy who totes the rock on 3rd down and 3,2 or 1... KABOOM... Fowler rarely had issues holding onto the ball... ;)

plus you get a younger, cheaper version at FB, who also is a much better blocker and receiver than Collins (who is a FA)

Collins seemed like an obvious addition in the offseason.(Ill toot my own horn, called that shit.) But I don't see any need to pay him to come back.

When he was in the game, Lombardi was increasingly predictable too.

Im obviously in full support of getting younger, and more importantly, better in the backfield. Speed, power, ball control. Three things that our backfield lacks, IMO. Fowler bangs out two of those by himself.

At 23, the Lions are in a sweet spot to possibly land the top RB. The more I think about that, the more I like.

Thats true Blue. The thing is, I think any of the three out of Gordon, Gurley or Coleman could end up being the best and the Lions will probably have a shot at one. I could see Gordon going to the Chargers though.

If Gurley didn't suffer the knee injury. He is EASILY the best RB in this class. The only dude outside of Gordon I would take in the first. Coleman is a 2nd rounder unless he runs below 4.4 at the combine, which I doubt. I seen him get caught from behind a couple times on his highlights. I'm guessing high 4.4's.

We made the playoffs for the second time in the last decade on defense, not the running game. If we lose our best player on D. Gonna need to draft some big nasties on the D-line.

Honestly, with Gordon, Coleman and Gurley, there's not much seperating them as far as the talent. Coleman was a track star in high school, so Im sure hes not slow. Plus, I know a couple people that go to I.U and they know him and his dad and they speak very highly of him as a athlete and a person. Im betting he'll be right in the convo with the top backs as we go.

Did he flat-out get caught from behind, or did a DB take a good angle and make it look, on the TV angle, like he got caught from behind?

Lol.

Well, Bell rarely makes it past the second line of the defense, so....
