I was wondering how long this would take. Feel bad for Baylor coaches because they said that as far as they knew he was not going anywhere. I find it comical that they list him at 310 and then mention his high school achievements. High school was probably the last time he was 310. Dude is closer to 340 now no matter what the rosters say.

So if the Lions pass on him in the first round are we going to have another year of you acting like an emo chic on her period?

Hanging out at the high schools again OL?

Nobody should even mention Billings and Suh in the same sentence. Especially cause Suh had almost as many sacks in his championship game that Billings had all season.

By the time the draft gets here, I'll have this whole board praying the pick will be anybody but Billings.

I will be fine if we take him, LOL. Any DT that can run down a RB from behind
40 yards down field can be on my D-line any time.

I'm not going to say he has to be the pick, but I'd have no issue with him drafted.

I survived through Dennard. Should be okay here also.

Kiper's first mock draft: Lions pick Alabama lineman

Kiper writes: "Detroit's defense began to round into form during the second half of the season, but they were a mess early on as they adjusted to life without Ndamukong Suh, Reed is a player who makes you better against the run right away. He plays with leverage, can wreck running lanes along the interior of the D-line, and frees up others to make plays."

I am happy as long as the first 2 picks go to d line and o line.

Mel Kipers 1.0 pick for us from his insider article

16.) Detroit Lions
Jarran Reed, DL, Alabama

And PFF's 2.0 mock for us

  1. Detroit Lions: Robert Nkemdiche, DT, Ole Miss
While the offensive line could certainly be addressed, the Lions swing for the fences with Nkemdiche who could become one of the best interior pass rushers in the draft. Like Bullard, he can play defensive end on early downs, while rushing against guards in sub packages. He graded at +23.4 as a pass rusher this season, good for seventh in the nation, but it was his improved play against the run (+11.8) that put him in the first round mix.

2016 NFL Mock Draft 2.0: Cowboys, 49ers each draft elite WRs

Not sure RN has the character JC and MF are looking for. And that's who will be making the decision.

I'm on the Billings bandwagon. Although I hope Ronnie Stanley falls to us.

I would hope an offensive tackle or defensive lineman fall to the Lions. But with the 16th pick I won't be upset if the pick is a RB, WR, LB, or defensive back. Just don't miss on the pick.

So Jarran Reed and Caraun Reid at DT? Isnt that going to be a little too confusing?

My priority list by task:

Stop the run - Billings, Ragland
Run the ball - Stanley, Elliott
Shut down opposing WRs - Hargreaves (or whoever Dieon Sanders likes)

I think it is safe to say that the defense needs an infusion of talent. Especially in the middle of the line and on the outside. Below is a link of the top ten defenses of 2015 (PPG allowed). Is it any wonder that 9 of the 10 were in the playoffs?

The Redskins are the only playoff team not in the top 12. The other 11 were and the first team not in was the Jets.

2016 NFL Mock Drafts : Mock draft 1.0: Browns land QB Jared Goff

PICK NO.
16
DET.png
JARRAN REED
DT
ALABAMA
The Lions could elect to add an energetic interior defender to eventually replace Haloti Ngata as the team's designated destructive force in the middle. Reed not only brings energy, but he is a rugged playmaker capable of wreaking havoc at the point of attack.

Bucky also mocking Jarran to us. As far as the eventually part Ngata need to be gone now

i'd be happy with an O or D tackle, but i'm liking Shaq Lawson as my early favorite Good sized(6'4" 260lbs) pass rusher that is solid against the run and has a great first step(by the time the draft comes around he'll probably be a top 10 pick though)
