I thought we would lose last week. I feel a lot better about this week. I am a little worried about what the loss of Lee does to this revamped defense and still looking for our OL to be dominant. But I think we win this week.

I don't know. They have to get pressure on Stafford. This game IMO will be a turning point in the season Good or bad.

Stafford can look like Marino or he can look like Jeff George. Last week was more like Marino. They will be a good test for our defense.

Offensively- I have been reading a lot about Zeke only getting 16 carries. I fully expect him to get 25 this week.
Should be a good game.

If we go down by 2 TDs in the first half I don't see Zeke getting any more carries than our other two losses. If we are up or it is close I suspect we run the ball a lot. I also expect to throw deep at least 3 to 5 times. I think the message is now clear to all involved that we added all of this speed this year and yet we are running an offense like we still have Dez and Witten running in sand out there. I've said all along that even if those long passes are incomplete they keep the defense back and less apt to cheat up to stop the run and short passes. I also expect more slants if the safeties are a little deeper which is our bread and butter 3rd down conversion play. What I don't really expect because we never do it (at least not since Dunbar was here), but hope we see is dumpoffs to Zeke/Smith/Austin over the middle instead of screens. This gives them the entire field to work with to gain yardage and forces the defense to tackle and not just push us out of bounds.

Their best pass rusher looks like he may miss again this week( Ansah). Their LBs have some sacks too though. They give up 29 points a game. That is likely skewed a bit because of all their turnovers vs the Jets.

if White is active for the game and we're down by 2+ scores at halftime, he could get the call for the 2nd half

And that would be huge mistake. Too early in the season to throw in the towel.

Status quo on offense and this looks like another loss. Garrett said the Cowboys were not changing anything on offense. Detroit has a better offense than any team the Cowboys have faced so far. This defense needs to produce multiple turnovers to give the offense more of a chance.

Don't hold your breath. There is almost no chance of this. First off we aren't likely sitting Dak and secondly if we somehow did I don't think White would be the one going in

Great point bringin up the long passes. Even a long over throw would make the opposing defense think a little. Right now the Cowboys are very predictable on offense. This has to change immediately

I like jarntt's evaluation of what the offense needs to do, and I'm all for it. The problem is that neither Garrett nor Linehan see our offensive struggles as a scheme issue, only an execution issue.

My guess is the first 15 plays or so will be a bit out of the ordinary, but then after that it will be right back to run, throw, throw, punt.

Time will tell, but history is on my side.

I was over confident last week, this week I'm not.
