The crazy part to me is all assistants are viewed the same. The league will not allow a team to deny an assistant an interview for a promotion but basically the only position they see as a promotion is head coach. So they can deny the QB coach an Offensive Coordinator interview but they would have to let him interview for a Head Coaching position. In what world is a QB coach looking for an OC position not a promotion? I'm glad they shot the Bears down though. I'd hate to lose anyone to the sorry ass Bears.

So Da Bears looked at all the improvements Stafford made this year, and were like; "We gotta get us some of that." But Mayhew was so happy with Stafford's play this year that he was like; "No way you're taking that kind of coaching away from us."

Personally I think his Millen is showing through a bit on this one. But I have no problem with telling the Bears to fuck off, just on general principles.
