NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah reports that some believe Ole Miss TE Dawson Knox could run sub-4.5 in the 40-yard dash.
Dawson (6'4/257) would be approaching really elite territory if he posted that time at the NFL Combine, but we might not get a chance to see that happen. While appearing on the 'Locked on NFL Draft' podcast, Knox claimed that he wasn't sure if he could participate in the 40-yard dash because of an undisclosed injury concern. Hopefully he can get his ailment cleared up before his pro day so we can get a somewhat official forty time.

Would be nice to not have to waste an early draft pick on a RB class that is not impressing anyone. I think I would grab Spencer Ware in FA as well. We were already short 1 RB last year and now Blount is gone.

One of those guys and Ware with KJ and ZZ and we will have nice depth all the way through. Might be able to go without a FB and grab an extra TE for that duty.

Here is a kid that impressed me at the spandex Olympics. He could slide more to the end of the draft too. I though he had one of the best kick slides. I like a G who can also play one of the other positions. I think we save a crapload of money letting Lang go too. Slide Crosby in for now and this kid becomes depth.

Derwin Gray, G, Maryland

2/9/19: Gray missed the start of the season due to his continued recovery from offseason surgery. He returned to the field but did not earn an invitation to a top all-star game.

8/28/18: According to NFL teams' preseason data provided by team sources, Gray checks in at 6-foot-4, 336 pounds. He is said to run the 40 in 5.25 seconds. Other data has his measurements as 33.63-inch arms, 10-inch hands, and an 82.5-inch wing span.

Gray was Maryland's starter at left tackle in 2017 and did a solid job on the blind side. He has pretty good athleticism for a thick-bodied blocker, and he uses his size to be effective in the ground game. In speaking to team sources, they are projecting Gray to the inside at guard and have him as a candidate to graded for the first four rounds of the 2019 NFL Draft entering the 2018 season.

BB_72; if he's still there in 6th round, he'd be worth a gamble. imo. He started out at LSU and then left after a year while transferring to a JC/CC. He had only been at Bama for last year. He needs better instincts for route recognition but can click and close fairly well. Has some length to as you can see.
