Linebacker
First Team: Devin White, LSU

White flew around the field for the Tigers in 2018 making a ridiculous 82 solo tackles. His presence was felt by opposing quarterbacks as well as on 98 pass-rushes, he got home with a pressure on 28 of them.

Second Team: Erroll Thompson, Mississippi State

I'm not a subscriber to PFF and have a roller coaster perception of them but tidbits like the following pique my interest coming from them.

13. Cincinnati Bengals – Devin White, LB, LSU
I’m no proponent of drafting solely for need, but it’s not a hot take to say the Bengals have the worst linebacking corps in the NFL. White would immediately be the most explosive linebacker on the Bengals roster and his 90.7 coverage grade this season would be a welcome addition.

BB_72; the kid below is my #1 overall Draft prospect for CB

11. Cleveland Browns – Byron Murphy, CB, Washington
After taking Denzel Ward last year, the Browns go back to the well to build a budding, young secondary. Listed at 5-foot-11, 175 pounds Murphy doesn’t have near the size of a corner like Greedy Williams, but he makes up for it with athleticism and ball skills. Murphy is the highest-graded corner in the country (91.2) and has 13 combined pass breakups and interceptions.

BB_72; or your #1 CB

3. New York Jets – Greedy Williams, CB, LSU
Ever since he saw his first snap of college football back in 2017, Williams has been lights out. His career passer rating against is a stingy 43.0. Standing 6-foot-3, Williams has the length teams will covet highly.

I would by no means bitch about getting a CB but I would love to have Devin White and move Jarrad Davis over to WLB. With those two behind snacks and Robinson. We could have one of the best run defenses in the entire NFL.

Edge Defender
First Team: Josh Allen, Kentucky

The highest-graded edge defender in the country, Allen was unstoppable on the pass-rush this season. Highlighted by his national-best 93.5 pass-rush grade, Allen brought in 51 total pressures that included 14 sacks, nine QB hits and an additional 28 hurries. Rounding out his game, he dropped into coverage on 141 snaps and allowed just 130 yards on 19 targets without allowing a touchdown.

Second Team: Montez Sweat, Mississippi State

It would be sweet to have all 3 of the Raider's picks in the 1st round this year.

The following is Bama RB Josh Jacobs..... 5' 11".... 215 lbs... He's #8

Would you take him in the first? Derrick Henry went in the 2nd and I think Henry is way better than this dude.

Jacobs is arguably the best RB in this class because it's a weak class, imo. Henry wasn't then or even now a true 3-down back and Jacobs is. Jacobs pass-pro is advanced leaps and bounds over Henry.

Henry was a 6'3 242 lb. bruiser. Jacobs has rubber bands for ligaments and tendons in his ankles. Jacobs can and has repeatedly changed direction on a dime relentlessly over the last 3 years.

They're totally different running styles. On the field speed Jacobs is better, has longer better speed and has better vision than Henry. Henry just ragdolls opposition or runs through them. Jacobs is 215. Henry is or was 240. Big Difference. Henry still has speed but not the elusiveness that Jacobs possesses.

Also, Jacobs has lined up outside in X or just inside the numbers as a flanker and the slot. He's great at downfield blocking for WR's, TE's or in a split back formation. The kid is relentless and a dedicated team player.

He's had 3 fumbles this year, I think, and 2 were lost but that isn't normally him. He'll get dinged for that because he's never had the carries that Damien Harris or Najee Harris receive.

Watch out for Najee Harris next year. He's built similar to Henry but dropped about 10 lbs. to get around 228/230. Harris is 6'2 and jacked up like Henry.

YES. He will go latter 8 picks or so. At least he should be drafted in that area. Probably the Raiders.

You think he is better than Henry?

Yeah, he was the consensus #1 player in all of high school. I remember because he was considering Michigan I believe.

You think he is better than Henry?

Yes, I do. Two totally different RB's used differently though.

Henry is power and yet still has speed. He'll power through or rag doll stiff arm his opponent as Jacobs has a great stiff arm also. Jacobs doesn't possess the build and power like Henry but still can stiff arm rag doll opponents to get off of him.

Jacobs is incredibly elusive, better short area quickness, so much better change of direction with not just 1 jump cut in a run but 2, 3, or 4 times if necessary. Jacobs hands down is the much better receiving threat and pass-pro. Jacobs has missed a block here and there or had a dropped pass so he's not perfect as no player is.

Iowa State RB David Montgomery declared for the 2019 NFL Draft.

A true junior, Montgomery racked up 2,925 yards and 26 touchdowns on 624 carries (4.7 YPC) over three seasons with the Cyclones as well as 582 yards on 71 catches, finishing as a First-team All-Big 12 player in each of his final two years. He should be one of the first backs off the board in April.

I watched a few tapes on this guy. He is damn good. Looks like a poor man's Saquan Barkley. He missed a couple pass pro's but I almost never seen him go down on first contact which is a good trait to take to the NFL.

Jacobs is nothing more than a wish to have two diverse RB's to go to.

RB is 2nd most oft-injured in NFL after DB/CB. You can never have enough. You pair KJ with Jacobs and then mix in ZZ rabbit and you have a great trio. I wish for Jacobs because he could provide so much more than Riddick can/does, on paper, and Riddick doesn't come close to Jacobs as a runner.

The question would be can Jacobs become a heavy use slot receiver like Riddick or move RB who is adept like Riddick. I think his CFB play demonstrates that he can. A few snaps a game with Jacobs and KJ in the backfield leaves questions in a DC's mind to adjust.

all in my opinion though and not from a homer perspective.

@Rollingthndr Montgomery could easily be one of top 3 or top 5 drafted. He's been the main RB for the Cyclones whereas Jacobs has had to share duties with 4-6 RB's in any given game. Bama has also destroyed opponents this year and quite a few games in last 3 years so Saban smartly gives his stable of RB's varying carries in each game.

Jacobs was a 3-star RB out of Tulsa and didn't have offers even from in state. Jacobs was also relied upon more than Damien Harris or even Najee Harris this year. Many Games Jacobs was the starter. That says a lot coming from Saban.

Lions not projected to receive any 2019 compensatory draft picks

If you’re hoping the Detroit Lions will pick up an extra compensatory pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, I’ve got some bad news for you. Over The Cap released their compensatory pick projections for the draft, and the Lions do not appear on track to receive any additional picks.

Compensatory picks are awarded to teams that lost significant players in the previous year’s free agency session. Compensatory picks vary from Round 3 to Round 7 and are awarded based on a formula that takes into consideration players added in free agency, players lost, contract values and playing time.

Here’s a look at some of the notable players the Lions lost and gained through the 2018 free agency period.

Gained: RB LeGarrette Blount, G Kenny Wiggins, TE Luke Willson, LB Devon Kennard, LB Christian Jones, DB DeShawn Shead, DT Sylvester Williams,

Lost: C Travis Swanson, TE Darren Fells, DT Haloti Ngata, LB Brandon Copeland, LB Tahir Whitehead, S Don Carey

Note: The Lions don’t receive any consideration for a compensatory pick for losing Eric Ebron, since he was released.

The Lions knew they weren’t contenders when they turned down Patriots’ offer for Tate

A report from MMQB’s Albert Breer adds fuel to that fire. According to Breer, when the Eagles traded for Tate, they had competition:

As the Eagles heard it, they and the Patriots had third-round draft picks on the table, and Detroit figured the Eagles’ pick would be higher. So off Tate went to Philly.

BB_72; The win/Loss currently ongoing between "The Hoodie" and a former somewhat in house understudy stands at Hoodie 5 wins and the understudy "Quin" 2 wins..

So instead of just waiting for him to hit free agency. We released him early and got nothing? Don't tell me that is true.

A good negotiator would of had an extra draft pick instead of just sending to one team and "hoping" for a better record from one of the two. Fucking dumb ass Quinn has multiple offers and gets no extra value. That might be more infuriating then just shipping away our best WR to begin with.

This is probably a good thing. It means we released trash and at least got Kennard who pretty good. +1

We didnt pick up his 5th year so he automatically becomes a FA. I dont think waiting was an option. Not 100% sure though.
