No matter what it was the league didn't schedule those games because Suh was on the team. Line up your one man Suh team against anybody and let's see how that plays out. He was part of a team that earned those showcase games. The things you try to attribute to one guy is ridiculous.

The things you get hung up on are ridiculous. I wrote 5 things I'm interested in. All you want to talk about is Suh.

.They had 5 more in 2012.

I'm not trying to get into any arguments -- I'm just going to say, Detroit's prime time games had more to do with Stafford coming off a 5000 yard season with Calvin Johnson putting up almost 1700 yards receiving than Suh's 35 tackles and 4 sacks, while leading the 23rd ranked defense.

I will agree Suh gave the defense an identity and made people pay attention to us, but it took Teryl Austin to bring success to that group. It is too bad we couldn't have had Austin the entire time with Suh -- I'm guessing our defense would have looked much better than it did.

That's fine. I disagree, but I'm comfortable with you having your opinion. I remember that year being one where Stafford was accused by basically everyone of putting up junk yards in meaningless games. Calvin has always been the real deal. But Suh was the identity of the team the entire time he was here. A true superstar, the kind of guy who brings in ratings. No surprise he wasn't suspended for the Cowboy game last year. Without Suh, the Lions get crushed in that game and people turn it off early. Suh = ratings. Not Stafford. No one outside of Detroit tunes in to see if Stafford will finally beat a winning team.

If it was 2011 where we jumped to 5 nationally televised games -- I could agree with your thinking, as Suh was a beast his rookie year, having arguably his best year as a pro (most productive). 2011 was his least productive and the year he was suspended for the stomp. Detroit had a winning record despite the poor play of our defense. Remember this is the same defense that gave up 600 yards to New Orleans, a week removed from giving up 500 yards passing to a backup QB.

IMO -- if this were the case and Suh was responsible for the Nationally Televised games. The Houston Texans would be on national TV every other week, because of JJ Watt. Fans don't tune in to see a DT get double teamed with hopes of him making a play. They want to see the offensive stars. The top skill position players. They want to see points put up and big plays. They don't want to see a battle of punters.

Everyone has their own opinion though.

As much as some have valued Suh -- think about this for a minute and answer this question. In Suh's 1st 4 seasons -- Detroit's defense gave up an average of almost 25 points a game. 1 year with Austin -- the defense gave up 17.5 a game.

Without Suh for the upcoming season -- If the defense gives up 25 points a game -- are you going to call it a successful season?

?

Texans have had 12 prime time games since JJ Watt was drafted. Including 5 in Watt's sophomore year, and four more in 2013. They had 10 total in the 8 years before that. Very similar to the Lions, before blowing up prime time w Suh.

Thanks for proving my point. Fans want to see true superstars. Not average QBs.

Could easily be looking at an 0-4 or 0-5 start with this schedule.

:wtf2:
Did I just see the Suh-less Lions get a bunch of prime time games?

In fact, it looks to me like we got more games with Suh not on the roster than we ever did when he was here.

So we have two MNF games, both on the road?

Have to finish the season outside in the cold, but atleast it's against Chicago. John Fox might have calmed some nerves, but they'll be 17 weeks into hardcore sucking by then.
