tba tonight.

I'm most interested to see who week 1 is against, who the home opener is against, how many Prime Time games they get now without Suh on the roster (and if Miami gets any), when they play at Green Bay, and of course who they play on Thanksgiving.

Starts at 8pm. Get you're e cigs ready.

2015 home opponents: Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, Oakland Raiders, Denver Broncos, San Francisco 49ers, Arizona Cardinals.

2015 away opponents: Minnesota Vikings, Green Bay Packers, Chicago Bears, San Diego Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks, St. Louis Rams.

Detroit will also play at home against an NFC East team and on the road against an NFC South team, specific teams to be determined at a later date based on 2014 records (teams with same place in the divisional standings at the end of this season are matched up).

So I'm guessing this will be Atlanta and Philly?

Lions really did not get much prime time with Suh. One game here and there.

Actually Phins had two games last year one MNF and other TNF. Lions had two also if you count the turkey game.

In 2011, after Suh won rookie of the year in 2010, the Lions hosted Chicago in week 5 for their first primetime appearance since 2005 and also the team's return to MNF after a decade-long absence. They had 5 more in 2012. 2 more in 2013. In 2014 they had 2 more if you count London.

So they went from 0 over a 5 year span to getting 10 during Suh's time here.

Also CJ's time and Matt's time, high scoring offenses get prime time. Had a bunch after a playoff season. That also happens to other teams. Is it really all about Suh? or about Suh in Rob's world?

That MNF game against Chicago is still the most fun I've ever had at a football game.

Had such high hopes for more chances like that as a fan.....

Aren't half of those 10 the Thanksgiving Day game that has been going on for 50 years?

That would cut the Suh credited games in half. I don't think you would count a game at 9:30am a prime time game and the NFL made it a point a few years ago to try and feature every team in a prime time game annually.

Don't you think maybe you are trying to give him a bit too much credit?

Correct. The average football fan these days are mostly fantasy football nerds. They do not tune in to watch defense.

Was last year's opener against the Giants on MNF?

Or was it SNF?

It was Staffords best game in recent memory, I remember that.

Well, Matt and Calvin had 0 until Suh came along. Ditto for playoff seasons.

Is it all about Suh? No, asshole. I mentioned things I'm interested in. But you're hung up on Suh. Is is really all about Rob in your world?

Was only a few years ago that they paid us a visit to start things off.

I could handle Tebow stopping by Week 1.

But Id prefer San Fran or Oakland.

No.

0 before Suh since 2005.

They had 4 nationally televised games in 2012 excluding Thanksgiving.

They had another in 2013, and the London game last year plus MNF vs the Giants and SNF vs Green Bay.

They'll probably get one or two this year being a playoff team, but I won't be surprised if they only get 1 or 0.

I'm hoping for week 1 @ Packers. Start off with a nice big fat reality check.

Some fun facts:

With Thanksgiving and London, they automatically have 2 nationally televised games this year.

Detroit already knows it will play Kansas City Week 8 on Nov. 1, with the bye week coming Week 9. The London game will be nationally televised starting at 9:30 a.m.

The Thanksgiving Day Game, an annual tradition in Detroit, will also be played on national television, though the opponent for that game is unknown until this evening.

The Lions have played at least one game on ESPN's Monday Night Football in each of the last four seasons dating back to 2011.

The team hasn’t been featured on NBC's Sunday Night Football, however, since losing in Green Bay, 27-20, on Dec. 9, 2012.

Tonight we'll know the order of the opponents and how many games the Lions will have on national television.

So we get more games in the year after we make the playoffs? I wouldn't have thought that, figured the NFL would rather showcase premium matches like TB vs Tenn than playoff teams

No matter what it was the league didn't schedule those games because Suh was on the team. Line up your one man Suh team against anybody and let's see how that plays out. He was part of a team that earned those showcase games. The things you try to attribute to one guy is ridiculous.
