Given that he'll be a free agent around age 27, it wouldn't be a stretch to see him get a Heyward type contract if he keeps performing and stays healthy (8 years, $180ish million), although it's always a gamble either way.
He's got a career OPS+ of 115 before completing his age 23 season, he's one of the best defensive players in the game and he plays a premium position. On top of that, his personality makes him INCREDIBLY marketable.
I'd love to see them buy out a year or two of his free agent years, but I'm not holding my breath.
If he continues on this trajectory, he could be one of the top players in the game.
On the other hand, he could break his leg tonight and never be the same and would be smashing his own dick with a cleat for turning down that $100mm.
There's guys that go for security (Sal Perez, Mike Trout) and there's guys that go for top dollar (Bryce Harper). I'm hoping Lindor proves to be a little bit more of the former.
