I don't know if he retires but he's not playing another down for the Packers either way

I will note you expert wisdom on Packer football and will check in with you down the road to clear up other concerns about the Packers I may have

Has nothing to do with it being the Packers . Rodgers is dug in man . If he comes back now he's never getting traded. His only viable options are to sit and keep sitting til you're traded, rerire or come crawling back and look like a total bitch

Rodgers doesn't seem like a total bitch so..... ya know

Well he came crawling back looking like a total bitch but it will be with a new contract that gives him options where he can make decisions after 2021 for the upcoming 2022 season. So it does appear he could request a trade after 2021

Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers are in the final stages of a reworked deal to bring him back for the 2021 season, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Monday, per a source. Rodgers had been seeking significant say in his future in the new contract, and according to Rapoport, the QB will have a voice in the matter in 2022 and 2023.

With the Packers slated to report to training camp on Tuesday, Monday acted as a sort of deadline for Rodgers and Green Bay to overcome their differences and hammer out an agreement. It appears they did just that.

I thought he would take the COVID opt-out waiver but the deadline has past and that’s not a option. It will be interesting to see how bad he really wants out due to the $$$ involved

Aaron Rodgers was present for the start of Packers training camp.

Rodgers sauntered into the team facility Tuesday morning after months of brinksmanship. It was only in June that the Jordan Love era appeared to be underway in Green Bay. But last-minute negotiations that could ensure Rodgers can escape the Packers snake pit after this season locked him in for one last ride in Green Bay. Rodgers' redraft ADP is sure to jump in the coming days, along with Davante Adams and Aaron Jones. Though his career-high 9.1 percent touchdown rate from 2020 is sure to fall a bit in 2021, Rodgers should be among the first non-rushing QBs off the draft board this summer.

agreed.....he did work some magic getting free after this coming season and the packers receiving no compensation when he plays elsewhere in 22.
Wonder how the packer faithful like his farewell season and what kinda reception will he receive.

He is under contract for '22. '23 is the void year so they can and likely will trade him next offseason.

July 26, 2021: One day before players are required to report for training camp, Schefter reports that the Packers offered concessions to try to persuade Rodgers to return for at least one more season and that the two sides were able to reach mutually-agreed-upon terms that would set up Rodgers for a possible exit from the Packers following the 2021 season.

Everything coming outta Rodgers mouth sounds like he's got GB in his review mirror after 21

The possible exit would be by a trade that would be agreed upon it appears at the end of 2021. If he is happy with how things are after this year he could decide to stay and play longer.

It appears the only way he would be able to leave after the 2021 season is for him and the Pack to work out a trade. He would not become a free agent until after the 2022 seaon

According to multiple media sources, Rodgers and the Packers have worked out an agreement to ensure his return for the upcoming football season. Rodgers, whose contract currently runs through 2023 but with no remaining guaranteed money, will have that final year effectively erased from the contract. The 2023 year will void and the Packers will agree not to use a franchise tag on him, making him a free agent if he is still under contract with the team at the end of the 2022 season.

He had a nice interview but this could be his last year in GB or in the NFL if they don’t win it all. I still think he has a good 3-4 years left in him though but one more championship could change that too

Despite his usual whining and throwing people under the bus, the fans should give him a good reception. He has a ring and has kept that team in the SB conversation for a long time.
