Whether you agree with the rules or not, comparing how other sports are ruled is pointless. Nothing about golf is run like other sports.

I don't have an issue with the 2-stroke penalty for improperly relocating the ball....even if noticed by a fan and a day late. The players are there to police themselves, which makes the sport unique. The 2-stroke penalty for signing an incorrect scorecard was where I believe they fully went over the line.
