Yeah, you gotta filter out the "It relates to Oregon so it equals success" BS.

Good position coaches don't automatically equate to good coordinators.
Good coordinators don't automatically equate to good head coaches.

The guy is just such a snake in thee grass though.......

I love having my controversial coach who some people love and some people hate and a lot of people don't believe will ever get over the hump. It makes it that much more fun to watch. I wasn't alive to see Osborne struggle to win that Championship all the years that he did, but I have seen a lot of the old games and I just love how we stuck with the guy until he finally got us over the hump.

Again, I'm not comparing Osborne to Pelini........not at all. I know it's a different time and different situation and all that. I just want to see Pelini figure it out. I've always been a fan of the underdog......and let's face it, Bo Pelini started out as the favorite, but has now turned into the underdog.

I would rather have a coach that knows what he is doing than a coach that I have to wait to see if he can "figure it out".

Btw, how is Kelly a snake in the grass? Because he flirted with other jobs? Yeah, we don't have that already.

I remember the loss to FSU the year before as well, but we weren't even in that game.

Nebraska was more competitive in that game than in any of the Pelini blowout losses. One of their TDs came after Frazier lost a fumble at our one yard line. The final score was 27-14.

We will see how much of an OC Frost really is first. Much like Kelly, I am sure Helfrich will call bulk of play calls. Frost might still hold full control over WR and basically give Helf the run down from the press box. Doubt he gets full OC reigns right away.

But if he does, how can you discredit that move? Wasn't your current OC who I believe most of you like was a position coach making the jump to OC?

We will see, I like Frost a lot, guy is not only a good coach, but a great person. I hope he has success in whatever he does in the future. But I do hope he stays in Eugene for many years.

He doesn't care about his players, he has no integrity........and then the way he acts on the sidelines.

The way Bo acts on the sidelines to me shows he cares about his players. The way Brian Kelly acts on the sidelines to me shows he cares about himself.

I just don't like him at all. Arrogant as hell. Some may say Bo is arrogant.........I don't see it. Just because he wants to do things his way doesn't make him an arrogant man. It makes him stubborn, and he believes in what he's doing. Plain and simple.

The best coach out there, not because of his record, but because of how he goes about things is Nick Saban.

He's a legend, and he is going to stay at Alabama and keep going. He's a good man.

Bo has 5 years behind him. He's made positive adjustments to the offense, with only some minor fundamental tweaking to do.

His defense has been exposed as being soft in the box over the last 3 years. One would think a guru would be able to look at the numbers and identify the glaring stats, and take a different approach. The 40+ point games need to stop.

Frost is now the OC and QB coach. Frost will be like Jay Norvell was under Billy C or Papuchis is now with Bo. Have a coordinator title but not call plays.

A perfect example of this would be to look back and say "I would have much rather had Barry Switzer than Tom Osborne, because Switzer knew how to win Championships early, and it took Osborne 20 years to figure it out."

Now, obviously Barry Switzer had zero integrity and cared only about himself. And beings that we know how amazing Tom Osborne ended up becoming later on down the road, I would think it's only logical to sit here and say we're glad we had Tom Osborne..........even though it did take him 20 years to figure it out.

This makes me laugh. Bo and Kelly are the same!!!! The difference for you is that one of them coaches "your team" and the other does not. If the guys were swapped then you would be defending Kelly and bashing Bo. It's ok to do it like that. That is human nature. That is why there is this word called "bias". It's ok sometimes.

I would have LOVED to have Switzer.

Perhaps, but that doesn't make me look back and wish Nebraska had made Oklahoma better........with a complete scumbag for a coach.

En sech.

I'll just plain and simply put it this way.......

I want to win......I want to win worse than anybody. It kills me to see us lose any game, even the games we're supposed to lose.

But if we can't do things the right way, then I don't want to win. Winning is pointless that way. It proves nothing. Anybody can find ways to step outside the rules and rise above the competition. Only a true Champion with outstanding character can find a way to win doing things the way they are supposed to be done.

Tom Osborne was one of those people. One of the only one of those people. Bo Pelini is a good man. He cares about his players. How many other Head Coaches in the entire country do you see going out on the field to assist his players every single time they are injured? Bo is a good man with a lot of faults. He's young, he's stubborn, and he believes in what he's doing.

We're 5 years in. I'll give him 20 years if that's what it takes. I don't care. Fug it. I like how Bo handles his business.......he does it the right way. He just doesn't win the big games yet. He'll figure it out, and until then I'm gonna be patient.

And now, if you'll excuse me.......I've got some ice fishing to go do :smokin:
