That's fine, too. A little overly sensitive to be on the internet, in my opinion, but whatever. Then he goes into this "I think Cleveland sucks, The Cavs lost and the Browns suck" baby rant - none of which I give a fuck about.

Typically the first response to a perceived critic is to direct the criticism back at the other person.

That is neat. Regardless, you don't effectively express all your thoughts on here.
yes i do.

you even said "i see how someone could read it that way" so by that narrative, you read it MY way as well.

i have trouble understanding your rants at times too, but dont feel the urge to "whatchoo talkin' bout willis?" on you.

to each their own...

This. I have stated a number of times in this thread and in the past, that I wish Cano all the best in Seattle. Safeco doesn't have the short porch in right that Yankee Stadium does, so his HR drop was easily foreseen, the BA drop this year is a surprise and hopefully is just a short-term blip.

It was my understanding that his batting numbers were actually better Away than Home when he was a Yankee. Don't know if that included HRs, though.

Over the last five years, I believe Swisher was the only Yankee to hit more HR on the road than at home.

I didn't read it your way, but I was taking a softer approach. Wanted to see if we could get through it without hitting the "it was my idea" bit.

Agreed. To each their own.

Understood, but if the guy's so sensitive that acknowledging how long Cano's contract is going to set him off that badly, he probably should stay out of internet skirmishes, not start them.

Fuck that guy.

Here's a sad bit of trivia - Nick Swisher is the highest paid free agent the Indians have ever signed.

In 2013 Cano hit 11 HRs in Yankee stadium and 16 on the road.

His reduction in HRs isn't from leaving Yankee stadium, it's because his average fly ball isn't traveling as far as it did during his time in Yankee stadium. You could have put him back into Yankee stadium last year and his HR total probably wouldn't have been much higher, off the top of my head I believe Cano actually hit more HRs in Safeco than he did on the road.

Just diving in since there's a lull.

Things I have noticed. In the past 5 minutes or so which may mean absolutely nothing.

Cano's babip is 281, his career is 321. No idea what his xBabip is so, that may or may not mean positive regression is coming.

First strike percentage the past three years:

2013: 60.8
2014:56.8
2015: 64.6%

Pitchers may just straight up not fear him as much.

wFA/C runs per 100 such pitches above average past 3 years.

2013: .62
2014: 2.19
2015-now: -0.66

However, I credit @SlinkyRedfoot for getting me to look for this, but I found this particularly interesting:

wSL/C (Slider) runs above average/100 pitches past 3 years:

13: 3.41
14: 1.22
15: -1.84

A similar story shows up for the curve and changeups/100 pitches.

Curve

13: 4.43
14: 1.63
15: 0.92

Change:

13: 4.72
14: 1.52
15: -3.55

Some can probably say "well no shit, he's slumping," but I found this interesting nonetheless.

If I believed this year is an indication of the future for Cano, my mental meltdown probably would've been 5x as worse as his. If Cano doesn't pick it up (I've indicated that I think he will), this could be seriously crippling for the franchise.

Looking at his regression on those stats it may be interesting to also take into consideration his BA and BABIP. I found it interesting that Cano's BABIP on fastballs and breaking pitches are similar to what they previously were, yet his BABIP on offspeed pitches dropped .200 points. Trying to think of an explanation for that one.

I am no expert on this stuff, but fwiw, the Z-Contact% for Cano is down about ~4%. One would think his babip would be down naturally as a result- he is after all, over 30.If his babip is down 200 points on offspeed, I have a hard time believing this explains it, but it might be some of the explanation... so I'll offer it anyways.

2013: 93.3%
2014: 94.4%
2015: 89.7%

The O-Contact in general is also down from 77.4% to 70.6%. Should be interesting to monitor going forward.

Interesting. I didn't know this. I thought Swisher was the only one.

it was a fluke year he hit a HR every 19 ABs in the new yankee stadium seattle every 39 ABs It also helped being in the AL east instead of the west

now the rest of his stats going in the toilet is another problem:suds:

.237 with 2 HR & 20 RBI lmao

The dude is making $24,000,000.00!

Maybe we could laugh at Seattle but we're only a third of the way through one season. I don't think long, $200M+ contracts are ever worth it but I suspect he'll play a lot of very good ball before his contract runs out.

What a difference 5 weeks make as far a Cano goes. He is hitting something like .330 and has raised his yearly average to about .280.

The M's still suck but Cano has been playing well. Too bad it is at the same time Felix starts falling apart.

You had to know his numbers would drop once he went to Seattle. He'll be ok
