I got Johnny Manziel...

CMP% - 67.6%
Passing Yards - 2,780
Passing TD's - 18
Interceptions - 6

Rushing yards - 1,014
Rushing TD's - 15
YPC - 6.5

Total yards - 3,794
Total TD's - 33

He's beating Cam Newton's numbers by over 700 yards at this point in the season.

And yes, I'm on the bandwagon because he beat Bama...what of it?

But not only that, just look at his numbers...

I think there has been 1 other defender that has deserved the Heisman in recent years - Suh. I don't think Te'o is as dominant as Suh was, but he is a monster.

He is really the only one on ND that I can name. The competition he has faced is just as tough as anyone else. There is no other defender this season that matches up with him.

Mariota is the highest rated passer in country and his numbers are beating prior Heisman winners. But he doesn't have a cutesy nickname like Johnny Football. Oh and he hasn't lost....twice

Since this thread is titled who SHOULD win, not who WILL win, the answer is Marcus Mariota, hands down.

Most efficient passer in the country who leads the most efficient offense in the history of college football. Ever. Anywhere.

two words: redshirt freshman

Manziel will never win it this year. If he were a Sr he might get solid consideration, but not as a Fish

Manziel doesn't deserve the Heisman. Let's look at his numbers in proper perspective.

He's played 3 teams with a pulse all season. He was average at best in 2 of those games. His numbers in 8 games vs the SEC are nothing to write home about. Manziel in 7 SEC games: 8 TD passes and 5 INT...I just don't see it. Combined Manziel numbers vs Bama/LSU/Florida: 76 of 117 for 702 yards, 2 TD and 3 INT.. 52 carries for 179 yards and 1 TD If you add the Ole Miss game to the discussion, he's 93 of 143 for 893 yards, 4 TD and 5 INT.... Yup, easily the Heisman winner.

All this overreaction to ONE game and his numbers against the blind sisters of the poor has to stop.

He's EASILY the freshman of the year......but Heisman? Not so much. Next year, all bets are off though.
