Another blown save by the Mets today.

8th inning, Nick Markakis hit a wall scraper to tie it, next batter, Austin Riley hit one about 800 feet to take the lead.

Phillies are 0-9 in their last nine games against teams that aren't the Mets. They are 4-0 vs the Mets in that time.

I am sure the Mets love the fact they gave up Kelenic for Diaz right about now.

Lugo coughed it up tonight. But what is Diaz's deal? He was dominant last year.

Going from a starter to a set up man to a closer in a year and a half has to take a toll on an arm I’m guessing. In totality with pitches in the bullpen, last year was the most he has ever thrown. He was still good but was never the same after he closed 4 straight days against the Astros last year, his fastball didn’t have quite the same electricity nor did his slider have the nasty bite.

Thanks for the info. I wanted the Twins to buy low on him until I saw how bad his numbers actually were.

I still think he can be a great closer just with his age and he is like Rivers, Hoffman and Wagner with having an out pitch. He still has an upper tier fastball and a wicked slider. I haven’t seen a single Mets game besides the Segura homer. I’m just assuming he is like how he was last year where he is having location problems with his slider or his really, really crappy changeup so hitters can sit on his fastball.

This season's thread hasn't took off like last season's. Last season the Mets batted out of order a few days after the thread was created, and then had the worst June in team history.

The Yanks & Red sox scored 50 runs in their 2 game series in London this weekend. 30 yesterday & 20 today.

That's like a month's worth for the Mets.

:dhd:

Also seems about as many runs the Mets bullpen has given up in the last 2 weeks.
