The Rook has 11 walks in 14 career innings, and today the Giants have patiently worked all of one walk. What is it about this team that absolutely goes zombie when facing a new pitcher?

Coming into today, the Giants offense was 29th in walks, so THAT stat is more about the Giants in general vs the Giants facing a new pitcher.

And it looks like the Giants are getting squeezed pretty hard while Buehler is pitching into a rather generous zone. That helps.

Giants scoring 3.385/game (88 runs) this is absolutely abysmal.

Giving up 4.385/game (114 runs) this is actually OK, take away the two recent 15 run games, and this is really good.

Giants are 10-3 when scoring 1st, 2-11 when not scoring first
