I don't know either, but I tend to think the same way. Coincidence that we lose to Wash and then immediately trade for Cooper? It seems like Jerrys way of saying I'm going to do this so you get a fair shot and can't say you didn't have the talent and if you all still can't get the job done you are gone - Garrett and Linehan and maybe Rod. Then part two is Dak who gets new coaches to lead him and another shot next year to prove he can be the player from 2016 (or close to it) and if he can he stays with a new deal and if he can't we look elsewhere.I don't know this, but I would bet the farm the Cooper trade was 100% Jerry's call. They have spent the last 4-5 years building the right way, through the draft and not overpaying retreads. Why would they suddenly give a first for Cooper? Cooper is a solid player, but beside the point.
I personally believe the Cooper pick was made because Jerry is desperate for Dak to be a franchise QB, already promising to extend him despite a down year.
