How does that make him a diva? He is the one who would be taking less money. Why should he take less money if the front office isn't interested in making the changes needed to win?

He isn't holding anyone 'hostage for more money.' He is a max contract player that any team in the league would be willing to give a max deal to if they have the means.

In a way I don't blame him. Why take a pay-cut and not win championships when there are plenty of teams out there that will offer him $30m a year with pleasure.

Paolo, yet again you show you are an idiot.. he deserves more then what Miami is paying him. All he is saying, is if he does take a pay cut, he wants to make sure they use that $$ to improve the roster, not just to save a luxary tax. i dont blame him at all.

Well said....I totally agree with him and this was the subject of a thread I created earlier. A millionaire should not take a pay cut for a billionaire unless it is to help build a better team and not to save the owner some luxury tax dollars.

The one deserving of a pay-cut is diva Wade . When a guy bitches out of so many games like he did, and for no reason - He needs a massive paycut.

He gets paid far more than he deserves - He doesnt deserve much more than that. He aint no god.

It is not and should not be his focus to worry about how the team uses the money - Riles and company are the ones in charge of that. They will use the money to improve the roster the way they see fit for the organization as a whole - not just for the one guy who disappeared after the first quarter and didnt do enough HIMSELF to lead his team to victory in an elimination game.

The NBA and sports as a whole have become a disaster by letting these divas dictate how they run their teams. Teams will have more stability once they stop that - But that will be tough in this day in age when more and more people grow up as if they are so entitled.

I think everyone has said mostly the same thing.

If he takes the pay cut, it is only to help the team win. Either use the money to make the team better or give it to me. Nothing wrong with that at all.

The problem with you guys is that you're trying to point out reality to Paolo. He won't listen as he's already got his mind made up in his little world. Everyone else see's what Lebron was saying, it's Paolo (who likes to call everyone Diva) that's a complete idiot. Just let him stew.

So does he want help or the illusion of help, wasn't Ray Allen, Battier, etc supposed to be help?

Heat maybe drafting a starter would be more helpful than some washed up free agent.

Washed up free agents? Battier is a two time champion who rained down 3's in the OKC and 1st Spurs finals. Ray Allen hit the biggest 3 in franchise history. Those guys helped Lebron to 2 titles and 3 Finals. Yes, they weren't good this year.. battier is gone, and allen is likely too. I trust Pat can find capable replacements.
