Lets start this thread with this ASK Ira
Was Erik Spoelstra's NBA Finals approach exposed as flawed? - Sun Sentinel
Another Ask Ira where clowns attempt to blame Spo for everything and give the players a pass. As LBJ said, he didnt do nearly enough. He got hot in the first quarter and disappeared the rest of the way. It is an absolute sad joke for people to make excuses that he was worn out and shouldve gotten rest - Those same people saying that would have been complaining about Spo removing him from the game if he did... The problem wasnt that LBJ didnt get a break - The problem was he got complacent, as usual. He ONLY, YES ONLY - played 41 minutes of a finals elimination game - That is not nearly enough from your best player - He quit. He didnt do nearly enough. He deserves all the blame and criticism.
Of course his apologist will give him a pass for it, and they already have - postgame LBJ said that he will take making it to 4 finals and winning 2 -- That is 50%, it is no surprise that LBJ is complacent with a half-assed accomplishment. That is as mediocre as they come and yet people are praising him for it? It is no wonder this team ended up being mediocre - they preach it and accept it.
The two divas and Chris Bosh may come back - especially the two divas because divas are all about the money and they would surely not walk away from the money they will can get in Miami. But the Heat need to re-work Diva Wade’s contract to a more team-friendly contract - He doesnt deserve the kind of money he is getting - At this point in his career, he should be willing to play for the veteran minimum - And he needs to accept coming off the bench from this point forward if he wants to keep playing for the Heat. He doesnt deserve to be a starter if he is going to bitch out of three quarters of the season, lack aggression when he plays and not give the effort required. So, Diva Wade needs to accept less money and a lesser role or just retire.
Chris Bosh has to work on his game again and go back inside - There is no way he will make himself useful to this team unless he goes back inside. I understand his desire to want to stretch the defense, but that just wont work if you dont make your presence felt inside first.
As for the Greg Oden and Michael Beasley experiment - For people to say it was a a failure is just awful. These guys never really got a real chance. How can they call these guys failures when they got less playing time than the biggest scrub to ever put on a Heat uniform( scrub battier) Beas had a bigger impact on the game last night than scrub battier. Oden and Beas and every other role player on this team should want out of the team after getting the treatment they got over scrub battier... There is no way such a useless player gets so much minutes over such capable players... That only happens on the Heat - where scrubs are over-valued.
Greg Oden and Beas need to be brought back. As for Birdman, it might be time for him to retire as well or take an even lesser role with the team. His energy hurt him far too many times. He needs to work on that if he wants back on the team.
Mario Chalmers and Norries Cole need to work on their defensive discipline and learn how to play defense without fouling - the reason why the Heat were so high on them coming in is because of the defensive intensity they bring to the position but they just dont have the consistent discipline to do it offensively - If they can fix that, they will be very capable PG’s in this league and will fit in just right with what this team wants to do offensively.
Hopefully UD, JJ, Ray and Rashard give it one more shot - with scrub battier retiring, it should increase our chances highly to have a better season and end result next season.
Toney Douglas, Justin Hamilton and James Ennis need to continue to develop in the off-season to continue to be given roster consideration - They have the potential of being important pieces for our future.
Riles and the Heat F.O. will need to value this upcoming draft more than ever - Sadly, we dont have enough to make trades and acquire more picks and such so we have to make the best out of our draft pick - There are some very capable players within our reach where we are picking - it is a matter of the Heat doing their homework and valuing the pick.
Scrub Battier is in elite company among Heat players and NBA players - he will go down alongside Chris Quinn and be among the worst players to ever put on a Heat uniform... No other guys have ever been more useless to the organization.
As I said many times before , this was exactly the way scrub battier deserved to be sent off into retirement. This is how any scrub deserves to go - Being eliminated 4-1 from the finals in embarassing fashion.
This season and playoffs was further proof that he had absolutely NOTHING to do with the Heat winning the previous two titles - He was just along for the ride - He made ZERO contributions to it. He hurt us in so many ways with his presence on the court. Glad he will be gone - Glad he will go down a loser this season - He earned it. He can now retire and go into broadcasting at the level of basketball where he was last relevant(college basketball) he was a scrub as a pro.
At the end of the day, this season was a COMPLETE AND TOTAL FAILURE for the Heat - Not only was this season a failure but so far, this big 3 era has been a failure - But, with scrub battier now gone maybe they can get it together again and make good on their word.
Maybe next season Diva Wade and Diva James will value the regular season more - And maybe they will do more of what is necessary to help the team win. Maybe next season Diva Wade will put the team ahead of himself and be willing to accept a lesser role if he is too butt hurt to play and start an entire season. Maybe CB will bring his game back inside.
We shall see. One thing is for certain, with scrub battier gone, the future for the Heat is surely bright.
