Okie st didnt already lose to #1 tho. Stupidest nc matchup ever. Seriously, it fucking killed the bcs singlehandedly. It was on that level of stupid.

The SEC has been pushing for a playoff for many years. The Pac12 and the Big10 have been pushing back on it. Only the ACC voted with the SEC for a playoff.

When 2 SEC teams went to the NCG, it FINALLY convinced the other conferences to vote in favor of a playoff, only because they were getting left out. Before when those conferences were going every year they wouldn't vote in favor of a playoff ever.

To say that game killed the BCS because it was a stupid match up is straight from the mouth of someone without a clue. It wouldn't have matter if LSU and Alabama had already played or not, it was the fact of the other conferences getting left out that forced the change. The change the conference of the 2 teams playing had been pushing towards for years.

You know what is stupid however? The belief that losing to the #1 team is worse than losing to a team that would have had a losing record if not for the 1 win. That team is more deserving? Fuck no.
