Our SOS was 20 last year and 13 in 2012 according to Colley. Also, it's not our fault a team like Oregon lost to a team we beat and KSU lost to a 5 loss team.

And I'm fine with missing a bowl game once if it means the chance to play for a championship twice.

My overall point was that ND isn't exactly a perennial powerhouse. OSU fans are asking why Harbaugh hasn't gotten UM up to OSU standards, and that's a high fucking standard to be pissed about not meeting within 4 years. There's about 4 teams in CFB who do that right now. Which is why I'm happy about Harbaugh turning a Michigan team who was consistently missing bowls, into one that wins 10 games every year. Because the step forward to win that extra game or two a year isn't very far away now.

You can't say, "he's the head coach and all those head coaching thing you listed don't matter". Urban had meetings with his staff and players prior to the suspension and literally told them what to do, then they executed. Day had no decision making in the entire process and wasn't in control of anything. How can you argue he was the head coach? What, exactly, what he responsible for?

He made in game decisions. He was the CEO of those first 3 games. It’s not like Meyer had an EPL suspension. (See tottenhams Coach) Day was literally there making decisions. This really isn’t that hard.

Again, he was already the OC. So what likely happened is that he called the offense and the DC called the defense. The only difference is that Meyer wasn't on site able to over ride them or modify their calls/consult. That doesn't make him a head coach.

In one case they're not actually in charge of the team, they're just filling a spot and directing the team based on what the actual head coach wants until they return. In the second example they're actually in charge of the team.

And when he left, we had a single 3 star QB on roster who somehow we still did OK with. Our offensive line was in shambles, we were playing like 3 freshman. It's taken a second to fix those things through recruiting.

Day was integral in recruiting, and it's been noted several times. Also, are coaches kicking players off the team or sending out offers during the game? No, they're coaching. Day was the head coach in those games, so he officially has a 3-0 record. Just a fact.

How is Milton progressing? He was 3/4 for 58 yards and an INT last year. McCaffrey, I guess we'll see. Again, there just shouldn't be any more excuses this year. If after 5 years you guys haven't even won the division, during a time when MSU fell off and OSU lost one of the greatest coaches of all-time, I just can't see any sort of way Harbaugh isn't on the hot seat. They brought him here with so much fanfare and so far, he's done next to nothing.

Yeah and Michigan sure as hell isn't a perennial powerhouse either, but ND and Kelly has still managed to be relevant twice in the last 7 years. Michigan hasn't been relevant this century to the extent ND has.
