I wouldn't say "easy" because no game is easy any more, but i get the gist so rest up physically and emotionally. The Coaches need to adjust for next season, in all 3 phases. This latest game against Miami ensures us of an easy schedule next year with a good chance for redemption. It would be impossible to repeat this fiasco if injuries and bad luck
Going to be tough to get depth if they are dumb enough to pay Purdy 50 millionI wouldn't say "easy" because no game is easy any more, but i get the gist so rest up physically and emotionally. The Coaches need to adjust for next season, in all 3 phases.
Injuries will happen, it happens to all teams, so the Front Office needs to improve depth. The best way is clearly hit on your draft class. By 'hit' I don't expect EVERY player to pan out, nor every player to be a starter, but can't have the Drake Jackson, Kinlaw, and certainly not Trey Lance types. These high picks didn't contribute much at all, and lets not even review the 3rd round picks. uh!
There isn't that big of a difference from a 1st place to 4th place schedule. This latest game against Miami ensures us of an easy schedule next year with a good chance for redemption. It would be impossible to repeat this fiasco if injuries and bad luck
Looks like the 49ers played 3 first place teams from 2023 this year that the Cardinals did not have to play. They played the Chiefs, Cowboys and BucsThere isn't that big of a difference from a 1st place to 4th place schedule.
Cardinals had arguably the tougher 3 though. Chargers and Redskins this year were better than Cowboys and Bucs.Looks like the 49ers played 3 first place teams from 2023 this year that the Cardinals did not have to play. They played the Chiefs, Cowboys and Bucs
The Cardinals played 3 last place teams from 2023 instead, The Panthers, Redskins and Chargers. That one team plays three first place teams and the other gets to play 3 last place teams is significant
If we don't pay Purdy, then who will start? Watch what you wish for (replacing Purdy), because we had enough of the 'Jimmy Garapolos', or other 3rd tier QBs. Purdy has his weaknesses for sure, but is is till a top tier QB in THIS scheme. These other 3rd tier QB's have even more weaknesses..Going to be tough to get depth if they are dumb enough to pay Purdy 50 million
Agree, there is a difference but on any given Sunday.......chit happens. A supposedly weaker team can play well that Sunday. There isn't that big of a difference from a 1st place to 4th place schedule.
Yep, teams rise and fall every season, just have to look at the 49ers.Cardinals had arguably the tougher 3 though. Chargers and Redskins this year were better than Cowboys and Bucs.
The schedule does make a difference and it does help overall. But the focus should be on the 49ers first, will they rise up again? I do expect the 49ers to be better than this season, but no guarantees in the NFL? A poor draft class, a major injury, Moody doesn't right his ship, TW retires now, who knows?I am absolutely stunned at the 49ers 2025 schedule and over the moon.
They play only 4 teams with a current winning record and three of those are only 9-7. They play one team with 8 wins, two teams with 7 wins, one team with 5 wins, 3 teams with 4 wins and three teams with 3 wins
They are guaranteed playoffs next year
I want to keep Purdy, no question, but not at the cost of destroying the team. 60 million for Purdy is absurd and they won’t be able to keep or add other players. I’m hoping they either wait on Purdy since he is under contract next year or they get him to take a lesser deal and tell him they’ll fix the O lineIf we don't pay Purdy, then who will start? Is $60M a lot? Oh yes, and it will certainly impact the team overall. But if multiple other top contenders can pay it, so can we. His first year won't cost $60M against the cap, it'll be the 2nd year of the contract and beyond. So in 2 off-seasons it'll be time to release some top earners anyway, example Trent Williams.
The key is always the draft, every team must hit on their draft picks.
