This scrub offensive line they put together for the last two games of the season did pretty well. Much better than the one with Williams and Banks
True, especially in the last game.

Improving any position is really to improve consistency. A good O-line is for consistency throughout the entire season, plus play-offs. A good O-line is for BOTH run and pass, consistency in both phases. Even if we only add a top ROG or top Cen, it'll make a big difference with consistency.

BTW - I'm fine even if we start TWO rookies on the O-line.

My only concern with newbies in the line is protecting Purdy. He will be a very expensive commodity next year Consistency, as you said, along with continuity is the key

Yes continuity is also important, but this is a tough one because eventually you'll insert 'new' lineman. For me continuity is normally gained after at least half a season. Whether FA's or Rookies, there will be changes sooner or later, and then they need time to gel. If other feel the time frame is shorter, no problem here.

If...IF...we start two rookies on the O-line, continuity is of course lacking initially. But as the season goes on and for the next few seasons, continuity should be better.

There is a possibility for continuity. I believe the Eagles started the same 5 OLinemen the entire season so far but don’t hold me to that. I know a lot of “facts” that upon investigation turn out not to be facts

Kubiak got the OC job but won’t be calling plays? Must OC on name only. Gave him a fancy title

Oops. According to the NFL Shanahan is not allowed to promote Kubiak to OC

From talking heads, it might be Kubiak will call plays here and there. I know 'here and there' is vague but for competitive purposes, it needs to be.

The reason is after a decade calling his own plays, opposing DC's have 'caught on' to defending Shanahan. Now nobody can predict what Shanahan will do play to play, but they're referring to his overall tendencies. This makes sense because now there's a ton of data on Shanahan's situational calls, for example in the RZ.

Fans shouldn't go too far with this because again, its 'here and there'.

Yes, as they play through a season there will eventually be continuity, my opinion is half a season or so. But I was referring to prior to the season, when new linemen enter the starting line-up.

BTW - IF they start 2 rookie offensive linemen, I'm fine with that.
