Honestly I really don't know. The "Mob" like in the old days is long gone IMO but I honestly believe they have a way bigger presence than most think. Who knows and I honestly really don't care. Move the Damn Raiders to Vegas the shit hole stadium they are in now is pathetic. It will be interesting to see what happens and where they land .
......sounds like the raiders owner is ''interested'' in the thought of going there,....who's there to stop him from moving [the other owners?].,....raiders, Cleveland, indy all moved out of state before in the past...?

You really think the NFL is impossible to match fix?

"Impossible" is the wrong word. It would just be very difficult. And the notion that it would be easier to "fix" a game because a team plays there is just ridiculous. If you were going to fix a game, you would go after a team NOT playing in Vegas, because the Vegas team would be under the most suspicion/scrutiny anyway.

If it's fixed and the betting numbers show it mat be fixed Vegas will pull the game off of the board and notify the commission and the NFL. There is no better gaming police than Vegas. Besides what does being in Vegas have to do with fixing a game?

If I'm not mistaking pretty much every fixed college basketball game did NOT involve the Rebels.

Think about this, place a team in Vegas, have the Pro Bowl in Vegas annually, fans may go to the Pro Bowl just to place bets for the SB = money for the NFL.

Has a nice ring to it and alludes to the raiding of money coffers.

I would bust a nut if this happens. This is a great 2nd option for me since they couldn't come to LA. Vegas is my 2nd home. I go out there 15-20 times a year. Plane ride is only 45 minutes and driving is 3-4 hours, depending on traffic.

Running a pro sports franchise, especially a NFL team, as a tourist attraction would be a complete disaster. Vegas doesn't have the long term local population to make it work. The fanbase would be none existent when the team stunk it up. Davis has no business running that team. He doesn't have the economic capital to run it anymore. The NFL should have forced a sale a long time ago.

I have said the same thing with every other pro team mentioned as a possible Vegas team, but the Raiders already have a large fan base living in Vegas and LA itself is a 2 to 3 hour drive away. The LA fans will make that trip often keeping home fans in the stadium, then visiting fans will circle that game for a road trip because they want a weekend in Vegas anyway. I think the Raiders are the one team that make sense.
Well the Lakers would work too but we all know that will never happen.

Agreed this would be a ++ for the Raiders. Someone mentioned no home town fan base. I disagree I think there are more and more people making Vegas their permanent residence. It's not like the old days when people jumped out there for a chance to hit it big on gambling or as an "entertainer". There is so much more keeping people around now. They support UNLV.

If they moved to Vegas I would select them as my second fav team behind Cardinals. Its only a 4.3 hr drive from my front door. Plus I am there monthly for business and I will mix pleasure with it.

Mexico City will get a team before London. Vegas won't get one.

Heh. Speaking of a place where shenanigans might happen. We could see our first ever NFL player kidnapped before big game. Or just kidnapped and held for ransom scenario.

There are probably more Raider fans here, than any other team. I would support the team if they came here. I do not support the 780 million they want from the public to build. It would take at leats two years to build the stadium they want, and funding is a whole other issue.

I agree, and never even thought about them until the story came out.
