Polite as fuck.
If Chris Sale is that unhappy in Chicago, I suggest he find a new team. Perhaps the Giants would be a good fit

This story gets better and better. Think I'm moving to the LaRoche side if this is true:
CSN Chicago’s David Kaplan reports a number of elements on the decision, including the fact that allowing Drake to be in the clubhouse every day was actually a requirement for LaRoche to even sign with the Sox in the first place (Twitter link). According to Kaplan (link), LaRoche would not have signed with Chicago had he not been promised full access for his son, and both Ventura and GM Rick Hahn agreed to the situation before LaRoche was signed (link).
It was in his contract so he was in the right. They just wanted to unload his big contract after his performance declined in 2015. He has the right to retire for any reason and owes the club nothing.management asked for him to tone it down a bit with his kid in the clubhouse. Apparently he was there every day last year. What a jackass
His teammates supported his decision and felt that his son was not a distraction.don't feel bad for either side. Sox had to know that went on in DC (if it did). LaRoche is way out of line bringing his kid there everyday. I wouldn't like it if I were a teammate. Looks like it worked out great for everyone. LaRoche is done either way.
You'll never convince me 30 players and coaches all believed LaRoche having his kid hanging around 24/7 was great. No one wants to be viewed as the complainer..... How long do you think it would be before someone else dragged their kid in there too? Sounds exactly the kind of horseshit Daniel Snyder was famous for .... giving RG3 's family all-access to Redskins Park 24/7 ...... How'd that work out? Sounds like the Red Sox got it under control with their time rules before the games. His teammates supported his decision and felt that his son was not a distraction.
I think most of us here agree with this take on the situation. You'll never convince me 30 players and coaches all believed LaRoche having his kid hanging around 24/7 was great. Bringing his kid to the ballpark every day was written into his contract. Maybe management should have been smarter than that. You'll never convince me 30 players and coaches all believed LaRoche having his kid hanging around 24/7 was great. Everything I am hearing on the radio says that it was NOT written in the contract though. Do you have a link stating otherwise? The problem is that it was written into his contract.
Today? It was reported on ESPN radio that it was written into his contract.
Most of what I am seeing and hearing says that it was likely just a hand-shake agreement and not actually included in the contract.
